Hinoe's way of approaching backgrounds is more simple than what i've seen from other artist, it keeps the focus in what the camera or viewer is seeing more so than the perspective.

Do you use reference a lot or is it more important in anime to use memory than say looking at pictures of train stations while working? Same question with poses and smaller details.

Tbh, if you aren't sure how to draw something use references. Even pro artists use references when they have to draw something new!

They always use references, but if they have drawn this scene a million times, they don't have to rely on it as much. That's from building a visual library

DoKiDoKi Drawing I'm struggling to draw fold for cloth. I noticed most anime cloth fold/crease have similar pattern to it. Do they have reference book or guideline for drawing fold? Can you ask sensei this question. I know you have one tutorial for drawing fold but it don't help me that much.
