Yeah, my more wordy videos don't really make for a lot of traffic, even if they're some of my favourite to produce. But I'm glad to know i'm still reaching people!

Really great vid! I loved what you talked about - esp from a "horror" aspect. Really gripping stuff.

I think my favorite thing about Inside and Limbo is that they give me a surreal horror kind of vibe. They gave me a dreamlike feeling, like nothing really made sense because of all the unexplained things, like the "sonic weapon" area. I don't care much for the typical jump-scare horror, but the unsettling feeling that surreal horror gives me, which I felt a few times during these games, is like nothing else. Also, as an arachnophobe, I didn't find Limbo's spider all that bad. I refuse to touch Resident Evil though. Fuck that noise.

haha, see the spiders in RE don't bother me at all. But damn... the first time i saw those spider legs opening in Limbo... still get chills...

Oh, I totally get that. I felt the same way, to be honest. But after seeing it as being mostly featureless, I think it softened the blow. Still creepy, but not outright terrifying like the Black Tiger.

Yeah, I'm one of the few who found much of the potency of this game to be just retreading steps of its predecessor. I also wasn't a fan of its ending. Still, I do like how Inside makes you think. Ambiguity is a fantastic way to grip the player, and I can't deny that Inside does that. I just wish its gameplay wasn't so similar to LIMBO. Always love your videos, guy. And nice Townsend shirt. ;)

One could argue that the old school RE games were more puzzle based. You certainly didn't play them for the combat.
@VZed8 жыл бұрын
True, although there is much more of an emphasis on the survival aspect on those games in addition to solving the puzzles. Surviving is more of an open concept: health in the moment, ammo, healing items, ink ribbons left etc, where as death in INSIDE is more just a way to get you to figure something out.

VZedshows Yeah, this game is more about learning from your deaths rather than using your resources to avoid them.
