Thanks you that was easy but I have a question how do you now the best frequency??😊
@Rfelements Жыл бұрын
Hello. The best frequency is the one you select in your spectral analysis that has less noise. Worth to mention that with a proper antenna, like ours, you can improve the noise floor in your spectrum and therefore have the option to select more frequencies and get better performance. This is due to the lack of sidelobes that our antennas have. Thanks!

Hi ! Nice video!! I want to ask you... if I only care about the receiving signals (don’t care about transmitting) would I have to prefer a high dbi antenna or a medium?? Is higher dbi antenna more sensitive to receive??? Thank you in advance
@Rfelements3 жыл бұрын
Hi Dionysis, antenna is a reciprocal device. This means that its gain is the same whether it's transmitting or receiving, that is the physics of antennas. The decision on what gain you need can be done using link budget equation -> kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJ7Ll3WPmK-YjNE

great video, what does it mean to have a negative gain ? thank u
@Rfelements4 жыл бұрын
Hi, negative gain at some particular angle means that the antenna radiates weaker than the reference antenna used for the measurement - in most cases a dipole.

i stands fo isotropic and antenna gain is directional then why antenna gain is dBi
@Rfelements2 жыл бұрын
The 'i' is there because dB is a unit that is always compared to some reference value.. Various engineering disciplines have their specific 'version' of dB units and in antenna engineering, to make it clear the gain shown is referenced to isotropic antenna, the dBi is used. There is for example also dBm which is a power unit in RF engineering with reference value milliwatt, or dBc comparing signal power to that of the carrier wave. hi, I got a anntena of 9dbi gain but if a buy another anntena of 11dbi, it is the double of power? you said every 3db it's the double of power how represent 11dbi ?
@Rfelements3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ariel, you should check this information about logarithmic scale. bit.ly/3rvOqNX Generally, you to convert antenna gain dBi into absolute values, all you need to do is to take the dBi number and insert it into this simple calculation - x = 10^(G/10). So in case of 3 dBi difference x = 1.99 - thus the double of power. For 2 dBi difference x = 1.58

Question. I have a dual antenna whip nagoya. It has 3.5vhf and 5.5 of gain uhf. If i tune the uhf frequencie tona desire, will the gain dimish or be affected and the vhf .
@Rfelements4 жыл бұрын
The gain of the antenna is determined by the used frequency. So if it's tuned to the UHF, its gain is 5.5 dBi according to what you write.

I appreciate your video.. But gain can be expressed in both dB and dBi...as you can see in CST, which is antenna design software, represents gain in dB and another thing is dB and dBi are both same..so 6 dB also means 6dBi, so we can use dB and dBi to represent antenna gain
@Rfelements4 жыл бұрын
Seems like you misunderstood some thing. dB and dBi are NOT the same thing. The only way you can see a radiation pattern of an antenna in dB in CST Microwave studio is when you normalize the plot to 0 dB, then any reference value looses its meaning. In any other case you always have a reference physical unit such as mW, V/m, etc. which CST marks with a suffix. Hope this helps.
@TechnicallyExplained4 жыл бұрын
I think you failed to understand my point..dB and dBi are equal...e.g. 6 dB equals 6 dBi..and yes gain can be expressed in dB as well
@Rfelements4 жыл бұрын
Hello, thanks for your comments. If dB was the same as dBi, then you could use it interchangeably, which you cannot, thus they're not the same. Not with gain or any other variable. If you mean that 6 dB difference equals to 6 dBi difference in the mathematical sense, sure, you can say that about any dB number given you use 10*log10(X) definition..
@watchmewatch664 жыл бұрын
@@TechnicallyExplained dB can mean anything. dBi means antenna gain in reference to isotropic radiator.
@TechnicallyExplained4 жыл бұрын
dB is the ratio and not with reference to absolute value..dBi is with respect to isotropic antenna..an absolute value
