Doesn't matter if the police catch the shop lifter it's all up to the prosecutor
@kathya.gambrell9824Ай бұрын
The problem is that they know what's going to happen if they get caught. They get a ticket and a court date that they likely won't even show up for. Instead, they should not be certain if they will be held for day or six months. And plea deals need to not be a thing. Ever. You shouldn't be able to bargain your way out of your crimes.

Security guards also need legal authorization to detain shoplifters, police response can be delayed at times and people need to know that security can be just as responsive.
@TimberlakeTigerGirlАй бұрын
They do have the authority, the problem is that they can get sued if the person in question gets hurt when it's unnecessary. Like a security guard accidentally breaking an arm or a leg.

@melancholymoshpitАй бұрын
As a retail worker profiling isn't even about race. I can look out the window across the street and spot a shoplifter. They all have the same look on their face, same stride, same nervous fake energy. Men, women, black, white, mexican, asian, young, old, doesn't matter.

@@kommisar. My man, in order to sell stolen goods at their home, aka "the black market," you would have to steal it from retailers. I asked how did they steal an entire pallet of the same product.
