The tent thing is REAL. I was casually selling some craft stuff and it was by a lake and CRAZY windy. my dad had really weighed mine down, but Someone else's went flying

Oh yeah, always always always use weights. Even on non windy days. Its good to have that set up in case the wind starts out of nowhere.

Thank you again! On a bit of a side note- I’m starting to gear up for fall and have found that the oranges and deep yellows I would like for my plushies are nowhere to be found 😱. What are you using?

I almost exclusively use five different brands of yarn. For blanket yarn, I use bernat blanket and Joann's version of blanket yarn. I have only every seen like two oranges and yellows though. Like a bright orange and yellow and then a soft pastel yellow and like a terracotta-y orange. If those aren't working out, premier yarns parfait chunky as a decent color selection, but it's thinner than bernat blanket, so in order to use them on the same project, I've found you have to hold the parfait chunky double stranded. Then, as far as worsted weights go, I absolutely adore craftsmart yarn from Michaels. But I also use some red heart super saver. Scratchier for sure, but for amigurumi, that doesn't matter THAT much. If you have a Hobby Lobby, their "I love this yarn" and "Crafters Secret" yarn are good too. I hope that helps but you've also kind of made me feel like I need to panic buy fall colored yarn right now haha.

I sell about 50-60 percent of my stock at each market. I tend to stick to the same markets though and now am only doing one market a month in an effort to build up my inventory. I am doing back to back markets with a weeks turnaround in July so I am kind of nervous because I have noticed that even as my inventory has grown the 50-60 percent has remained constant. That being said I do believe your inventory is just larger in general and therefore your percent sold would just be smaller due to sheer amount. I am a very slow crocheter and the largest I have been able to build so far has been about 850$

50-60% is not too shabby. Though, by comparison, you seem to be bringing about half the items I do (or at least half the value). I usually have around $2000 in plushies as stock. So, now I have questions for you! What items do you make? Like what patterns? Because making $400 at most markets is pretty great! Also, what are your price ranges for your items? Could you get your inventory up making smaller/simpler patterns? I have a video on my channel that's called "17 quick patterns to make for markets" or something to that effect. They take me an hour or less to make.

Hello! Wonderful video! But I wanted to let you know that the links didn’t show in the video when you’d point to them. Not sure if it was just me/my iPad, or if it’s a glitch on your end. I don’t sell crochet but I love your tips!

How odd. I'm pretty sure they're there (at least on my end). However, I do know when I watch KZbin on my TV they don't appear. But they do on my phone. But I would think watching on an iPad would be more similar to watching on a phone, so I don't know why you wouldn't be able to see them. If you're looking for a specific link though, just tell me what video I referenced that you're interest in watching and I'll get you the link!

@@WorksofWhimsyCrochetCo Ahhh haha who knows then maybe it could be because I was attached to my tv through my iPad at the time so could be that! I didn’t have a particular link I just wanted to let you know in case it wasn’t just my end. 🤗

Very informative as always. I'm curious though. How do you keep your items from getting dusty. Especially if they don't get sold on their first market. Also, do you think the toys will be fine being vacuum sealed for shipping? P.S. I'm fine with your talking speed. At least it doesn't make me fall asleep. 😅😅😅
@WorksofWhimsyCrochetCo
@WorksofWhimsyCrochetCo Жыл бұрын
My plushies themselves don't seem to get dusty between markets and I just keep them in a tote with a lid. However, my displays definitely get dusty and I just used a wash cloth or a duster or even a paper towel to give them a quick wipe. And do you mean, you're going to vacuum seal them to ship OR you plan to vacuum seal them as a way to store them until they need to ship? Either way would be fine and probably help the dust situation. But I also feel like shipping in a vacuum sealed bag is probably unnecessary, but you could always lean into that and make that your "thing". You're the person who ships in a vacuum sealed bag to keep your plushies fresh/dust free. You know what I mean! It's always good to have a "thing". My thing is hand written notes personalized to each orderer thanking them for their order. And thank you for mentioning my talking speed. I was actually worrying about it for my new video lol. I know what I mean/am trying to say, so it's hard for me to self analyze if my video sounds good and is understandable.

If you are speeding up these videos artificially, please stop. I know you're trying to please the algorithm with shorter videos, but it makes these videos hard to listen to.
@WorksofWhimsyCrochetCo
@WorksofWhimsyCrochetCo Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your feedback. While I do speed up some videos to some extent, I never speed up regular talking parts more than 1.12 (1 is regular unsped up video), so I think I just talk kind of fast and don't explain well enough if you're having trouble following my train of thought lol. I've just found that my regular speed talking is less engaging (based on my analytics), but the ever so slightly sped up talking actually keeps people engaged longer (apparently not in this case though lol). I do cut out some of my "ummms" though for conciseness though. And just fyi, these adjustments have nothing to do with the algorithm. I don't think the algorithm favors a specific video length. And, in fact, I think creators aim for an 8 minute video minimum if they're interested in ad revenue. But I'm not monetized so I just create videos long enough to cover the info about the topics I'm discussing. If you check my channel, you'll see all my videos really drastically vary in length lol. But I'll keep your feedback in mind and see if I can make adjustments in future videos.
