I had and made the 70s jumpsuit pattern. I might still have the pattern if I look hard enough. I made it in lightweight twill it was red. I made it for a college freshman party. I met my husband at that party. He loved my jumpsuit. I made the view without pockets and I made a self belt to cinch in my waist

I enjoy your pattern walk throughs. As a new sewist I learn so much about what to look for, fabrics, fabric pronunciations lol, and why it’s important for me to start with easy patterns. I even got an understanding of what can make a pattern easy to sew or not i.e. the silk blouse

I love these videos so much! I live in the country and rarely drive in to the city, so your videos are truly like I'm sitting in JoAnn looking through the latest catalogs. You point out every detail, although honestly, I'm sure I would breeze over most of them and miss so much! AND you make it so fun and entertaining! Thanks, Lindsey!

Great in depth review as always, thank you Lindsey! I'm really liking the last 2 Simplicity collections. I feel they're on a roll again with lovely details in their designs. I love the sweetheart neckline first dress and pretty much everything else, including the Mimi G short suit pattern, it's just cute all round!

That pink top with the open back would be a beautiful dress. I don’t like when you suggest putting the waist so high and too close to the bust, to me that is an empire waist. Is there any way you could do a how to video of converting a drop shoulder pattern to a fitted shoulder? I think they are much more flattering on most bodies.

Thanks, as always, Lindsey! You do such an amazing job on these reviews. I watch every minute. And, I waited for you to make note of the fact that for the misses and womens' patterns they finally made a different view for each. They must have finally listened to you!! I'm so glad. Several of these will be on my mind while I wait for my JoAnn's to stock them.

I don't think you covered it but there's a pattern for a Renaissance Festival-esque costume, with a pair of stays/corset, a flowy sleeved top, and a flowy skirt (it's S9734) that I bought. I'm always looking for costume stays patterns and I like these new ones a little better than Butterick 4669 (which I believe is now S9592), which is the pattern that a lot of people have used in historical-type costumes.

I wonder if difficult vs easy to sew refers to how much fitting is involved? Finally! some original looks. I liked the blouse with the handkerchief neckline and love the multiple pleated wide leg pants with the crop top blouse.

I think the level of difficulty is rated by the # of pattern pieces - NOT by the techniques required to make the garment.

Love these patterns!! i especially love the 9700 jumpsuit-I made this in the 70's out of a double knit that looked like denim!! I wore that jumpsuit all the time, and received many compliments; I have since gained weight, and I see it's available in a 26-I am buying this and making again I am SO excited! I love the 60's/70's vibe; this is really a nice pattern, and I highly recommend it! :+) Also, I made the "porkchop" pockets as they used to call them, and I made a self fabric sash and pulled it through the "loops" of said pocket-it was adorable!

9717 I wonder if they had the cardigan longer than the skirt as it seems to further elongate the outfit - I think it's very elegant but can be transferred into a light dressing gown. Versatile and comfortable yet has simply elegance.
@claudianowakowski Жыл бұрын
That funnel neck top is really cool. The open back feels a little bit out of place. I think the top is too structured to tuck in. It looks very sculpted. The pleated pants are gorgeous. The side pocket on the vintage jumpsuit is on the side of the pant leg. If you wore that vintage jumpsuit without a belt it would look like a flight suit or a mechanic's uniform.

The tiered midrift dress is very cute but the midriff stops at the side seam. I'm guessing those ruffled tiers are all rectangular pattern pieces. How can so many mistakes be missed? There must be no editing at all. The festival dress has no bodice shaping. It would probably need adjustment for anyone larger than a B cup. I had a skirt with a pointed yoke very much like that in the 80s. Wore it to death.
