A perfect example of that regardless how good recruiting is a bad coach will always ruin it and that's TA&M. Number one class with 7 5⭐ and they went 5-7. They were supposed to be the team to beat and they got beat badly because of bad coaching. So an elite DC will make an elite defense. The same goes for any other coaching position.

I think we need to be absolutely certain that Michigan's DC had nothing to do with the sign stealing scandal first. Once the NCAA has fully completed its investigation and if he is not named as being involved, then and only then can he be considered. He’s suggesting we could still make the conference playoff if we win out. Technically that’s true since it would mean we’d have a head-to-head wins against Oregon and Arizona (other 2-loss teams). But OSU and Utah would also have to lose in order for this to happen. Not likely but something to shoot for and motivate the team to play hard.
