The scare at 14:11 is probably my favorite from any scary movie. It was the least expected and always gets me😂 1. It's broad daylight, when the ghosts rarely show up in scary movies 2. The "skeptical husband" trope usually makes it so the scary stuff never happens when he's around or any 3rd party is around.. usually only the "final girl" sees stuff until it's too late 3. That face. Just plain terrifying 😅Pop-up jump scare or even stillshot: it's just so creepy

I have never cried from fear watching a film, but when I saw this at the cinema, I had tears streaming down my face. The part where she is outside and looks through the window to see the little boy dancing made me freeze up in fright, because he looks just like the imaginary friend I had when I was a child. I once drew a picture of him for my Mum, showing him how he was dressed. Exactly like him.

KEEP WATCHING! Part 2 starts right where 1 ended with the same family. Part 3 - Prequel on Elise Part 4 - Another prequel on Elise but right before the events of 1, which kind of start those events. Part 5 comes out July of this year with the same family in 1 and 2 just 10 years older =)

The way he is so unaware of the thing over his shoulder but the mom sees it. That shot is so cool. I love that you went to get Milo and shut the door after that scene.

Also when the mum is talking about her dream, the build up to the jump scare is so well done, her voice gives me chills it’s so eerie sounding. She killed it, she would be a great ghost story teller at a campfire 🤣

What’s great about Rose Byrne is she can also do comedy really, really good. You probably already saw Brides Maids (if not you should), and she’s also in several other comedies. I’m interviews she’s a natural comedian.

I honestly think the scene were the mother mindlessly walks into the room with the figure barely visible through the white sheet is one of the most chilling scenes of all time. 3:28 Yeah his style is interesting. I know his Australian, but he's chinese and Malaysian and his movies reflect his love for asian cinema. The unique take on ghosts in asia is so good. A lot of the jump scares here remind me of a scares I've seen in most asian movies. So Pugg if you find Insidious terrifying you may never want to watch Asian horror/ghost movies. 😂!!! But they're so good and so different from the usual jump scares I've seen. For example the Darth Maul peeking over Patrick Wilson's shoulder. 🤣!! That was such an interesting scare. As I watched asian ghost stories these interesting shots became more and more familiar. Back in the day with old time film cameras lots of strange things could occur in pictures like double exposures and one image ends up on another. So if there was an anomaly in one of your pictures you did not automatically jump to a paranormal cause.
