you can activate monster effects to the amount of monster types. If there are only fusions on the field, you can only activate 1 effect. If there are fusions and links you can activate 2 etc. Not hard dude.

Also Inspector Boarder cannot prevent continuous effects either. Say Dark Magician, The Dragon Knight is in play, after I summoned Inspector Boarder first. Because DM, The Dragon Knight’s effect is continuous that means Inspector Boarder can’t prevent that cuz it’s active period and doesn’t require activation to be used. Just an example and I feel that should have been mentioned in the video. But great explanation nonetheless.

kori kahalani again, inspector boarder doesn't negate, it prevents activation. Under the circumstances that those are the only 2 monsters. If you activate ABC buster to banish inspector, you will need to wait til the effect resolves, then in a new chain u can tribute to summon 3 dudes. Once he's gone the count is gone.

So question. Inspector boarder is on the field with no other monster types on the field. I understand that inspector boarder cannot stop summoning condition such as cyber dragon or BLS but what about monsters with summoning conditions that also have a cost like tricky or Galaxy soldier?

The summoning condition is the cost. If it doesn't start at a chain it's considered to be a part of the summoning condition. Tricky doesn't activate so yes you can summon, Galaxy soldier cannot, because he activates by paying cost. Notice the ; as cost.

Counter fairies are mostly continuous effects. Sooo...Artemis still gets the draw, Minerva still gains attack and bring a CT from grave to hand, Melteil still gains lp and pops a card, and valkyria still searches....is that right?

Elias Depends... If inspector boarder and Omega are both on the field. Total counted monster type is 1. So I guess, but you won't be able to activate anymore monsters until the card type count is 2 for only 1 additional effect on the same turn.

Simplify it down. Just look at the board. And count the number effects you have used. Number of correct monster types on the board: Total effects used: If you have a link. Then it would be 1:0 If u use an effect while that one link is on board then it will be 1:1. If the link gets removed now and turns into a fusion. Still it's 1:1 because you don't have 2 types it's still just 1. If you lose the fusion, then now it's 0:1. If there was an XYZ and link now then it would be 2:1 and u can activate 1 more effect.

it says previously activated that turn, that seems to imply all effects that turn count towards the total including those activated before inspect border hit the field, similar to summon breaker counting the total per turn not only those that occurred while it was face up

7:30 you have to notice what you said earlier. If you summon electrumite there are TWO different types on the field, Inspector Boarder AND Electrumite, link and effect monster. That should mean electrumite can activate because its your second effect.

An effect monster does not count toward the total. It must be a ritual/fusion/synchro/xyz/pendulum/link monster. Inspector Boarder is none of those.

yes. it is changed a little bit. just the part in the endphase. now you cant "dodge" veiler with bujin yamato, as an example, because veiler counts till the end of the endphase.

Ralph Jordan you're wrong. Cards that activate on the field are negated by effect veiler, even if they tribute themselves. Veiler doesn't work vs cards that activate in the grave, such as neptabyss's effect when he gets tributed, but veiler does work vs cards like rescue rabbit, lonefire, infernoid monsters (but infernoid monsters besides onuncu can just tribute themselves in response to veiler)

When there is 1 type, and you HAVEN'T Activated anything, then You can activate ONE monster effect... Because 0 is less than 1. If there are 2 types then you can activate 2 monster effects. ... You're method of counting is "PreCounting" which is incorrect. Neither player can activated effect unless the number of effects they have previously activated is less than to total monster on the field. The cap isn't to remain below, but to match the number before it locks you out.

You're totally right dude. As logic would have it, then that would be the only way it makes sense. Was wondering myself that very same question. And i personally thought it activated in the very same way up until now, untill i saw the reply. And if the ruling on this would be as Tombox replied to you, then their wording is incorrect and they should alter it, or correct the ruling in the future. Because it clearly outright states on the card that is has to be effects than you are allowed to activate "LESS than the amount of (types)on the field..." which would in turn imply that if only 1 monster type was present on the field eg. effect monster for all intensive purposes, you should be able to activate less than that 1 type present on the field, ergo 0. Otherwise it should clearly state "Up to.. the amount of types of cards on the field", not less than if the ruling on this is intended as tombox said, then they need to hit the drawing board again imho.

ShamanElementalLord you hit my interpretation of the card right in the bullseye. I'm not wholly convinced of tombox's explanation because I'm interpreting the card at face value. And if konami did want us to think otherwise they should have said "up to" instead of "less than". Additionally The "pre-counting" explanation isn't strong enough of an argument in my mind; I've yet to hear of anyone else use "pre counting" as a ruling for another card that has been released in the game (correct me if I'm wrong tho). However I'm sure everyone can agree that konami needs to make sure they're wording on cards need not create so much confusion.

Can any of you read lol? You can activate an effect if the previous number activated is less than. It doesn't say "if your effect as well would still be less than". If previous number is 1 and there are 2 types then 1 < 2 so you can activate an effect. That would be the second effect.
