What I remember and know is Inspector Gadget as airing on CBS as repeats could've actually been my local CBS station (WCSC) in S.C. about almost 32/33 years ago (1991-92) airing the show in syndication, while still being played on Nickelodeon.

WCSC-TV in Charleston, South Carolina aired Inspector Gadget reruns as a Saturday Afternoon program on CBS on Saturday Mornings as part of CBS Kid TV from late 1991 to 1992 at the 12:00 to 12:30pm half-hour timeslot, during the late part of the 1991-1992 season when I watched this, while being aired on Nickelodeon around that same time. Sometimes when they we'rent showing/pre-empted for Soul Train and weekend sports in several time slots on South Carolina affiliate WCSC.

Inspector Gadget ran for 3 years, 2 seasons and 86 episodes from September 5, 1983 to February 1, 1986, with re-releases of the program on Nickelodeon from 1987 to 1992, CBS from 1991 to 1992, syndicated from 1992 to 1994 (through Bohbot) and back to Nickelodeon from 1996 to 2000.

It's so funny how Inspector Gadget aired on Nick, CBS, The Family Channel, syndication, and Fox Family/ABC Family at different periods through the 90's and the early 2000's.

Inspector Gadget was already being rerun on local syndicated stations at least by the 1992-1993 TV season, on local stations, and The Family Channel (now Freeform) were all airing different episodes of reruns of Inspector Gadget by the time.
