Thanks for posting Ben! That BR to toeside with a switch to blind is now on my to-try list. Part 2 with unhooked and some kiteloop variations? BR handdrags and BR kiteloops are too much fun to leave out. Also, most people have trouble with over-rotating so maybe cover that if you feel like it.
@BenBeholzVlogs3 жыл бұрын
Super Cool ! Sure kiteloops would be a fun variation as well but. About over rotating: I see over rotating as a lack of control, it can be solved with a kiteloop but can be solved with body control as well. I would always prefer to learn both ways ;)
@DANMITCHINSON3 жыл бұрын
@@BenBeholzVlogs Yeah, a body control vid would be great. Showing the difference between tucked/bent and extended body positions and how that controls rotation, and also results in style, like you said. Great vid

Ben - could you do a tutorial on a simple front roll - I can do a back roll and learning variations of this with grabs that you have mentioned. But have not managed a front roll - keep getting stuck half way round!
@BenBeholzVlogs2 жыл бұрын
Hey, thank you for the feedback. I think your mistake could be one of the following: 1. Loosing body tension after the takeoff 2. Stop watching over the back shoulder 3. Depowering the kite in the rotation I see this mistakes very often and they lead to exactely your problem… Was that helpfull ?

I got cocky and starting sending popped inverted backrolls in 40knt wind, on a 7m, well before I was ready. The first accidental loop was fine and pretty fun, the second not so much. Remember to progress on sensible days and step it back when conditions are tough everyone.
@BenBeholzVlogs3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your great feedback! To me it’s always a thin line between progress and overdoing it. Progress can be also small steps, adding a little grab might bring us sometimes further than trying to learn the big trick fast...
@Mike-ms6he3 жыл бұрын
@@BenBeholzVlogsforgetting to risk assess because a) you've kited these conditions on this very beach loads before and its "only a little bit stronger than normal" b) your not a beginner right? c) you want to progress really badly and d) your mates are sending it absolutely huge. Doesnt mean you are 100% safe. In fact a mistake can cost a lot of riding time or in my case, thankfully, just bruised ego and progress anxiety for 10 months. My aim for this season is the backroll handplant transition with an exit loop. Last season I could only boost. Now I've landed 20 transition backloops and am going to go back to inverted back rolls- and unhooking- next time conditions are sweet. If conditions are too much I've now bought a woo. To "take it easy" :D. Thanks so much for your content Ben- its proper inspirational and shows your love of our sport.

Hey Ben. I’ve got low little basic backrolls and have been trying to get more lift with the kite instead of just pop with the board. Then I went for double backrolls and got a few of those, but now I can’t slow down my rotation to only do a single backroll. Any tips on how to control the rotation better, and make them more inverted, also to get more lift with the kite would be appreciated. Thanks!!
@BenBeholzVlogs3 жыл бұрын
Hey, the key to control the rotation is to spot your landing and pull in the bar. Aswell make sure to stear the kite down again this will stop your rotation as well... It helps a lot if you have a buddy who can film you quickly with the phone. Feel also free to send it over, i‘ll do my best to help you out with tips 😊🙌
@marklewis25763 жыл бұрын
I've been trying to slow down mine also for longer grabs. Throw your head & shoulders less aggressively & don't curl up so tight. To stop spinning, extend, spot your landing & push out the bar then pull it back in to land. If you know more tips, please let me know :)

Man would be great to review toe side/blind landings to ole. I see that you land with the same hand (back) on the bar you performed the grab with (when doing toe side landing I try to do grabs with my front hand not to switch hands midair) and then on the Ole you change hands but leave the front hand on the side of the back hand (I guess to keep the kite from diving). Do you just head downwind to get enough slack on the lines to get it around?
@BenBeholzVlogs3 жыл бұрын
Hey, you analysed it already really good. For the ole it‘s important to have the kite not to low. As you wrote already riding downwind will slack the lines additionaly... 🙌

Hi Ben! Super cool! I am stuck.. I am all ways rotating one way. Either front on the left or back roll on the right foot. Should I just expand or try to force myself to rotate in both directions?
@BenBeholzVlogs3 жыл бұрын
I recommend to do a rotation to your switch side without thinking about landing it. Start with a backroll in lower wind. The key in this step is to not even think about your landing, you want to crash it onto your but. After you did that 3-4 times you‘ll be ready to redo it with a landing. This usually works quite good...
@gh0strid3r923 жыл бұрын
@BenBeholzVlogs3 жыл бұрын
Interessantes feedback - das wäre ein sehr geiles video. ''Control Your Rotations'' bis dahin aber: 1. Körperspannung 2. Bar gepowert lassen 3. Landepunkt fokussieren und nicht mehr aus den Augen lassen 4. Kite zurück lenken Ich vermute wenn du dich selber beim springen filmen wirst, wirst du eines davon nicht machen...

Hey Ben, great video! I see that you’re kiting in lake Como. Do you go out in Valmadrera in the morning? I live in Milan and have been thinking about coming there for early morning sessions before work, but I’m not sure where to check for conditions forecast (i understood from your German video that you need wind from North to kite 6-10am there). Do you use any particular app? Thank you!
@BenBeholzVlogs3 жыл бұрын
Hey, yes I kitesurf a lot a Valmadrera. It's thermical and works pretty consistantly. To forecast the morning wind I use meteo swiss (app).

On your cover pic for this clip you driven an Fusion 5 but in the Clip itself a Choice 4. Why? And how different drive them in competition?

Hey, yes that‘s true. The reason is that I didn’t had any high quality shots from the tutorial shooting. So I took this stock-picture. I love the new fusion, to me it‘s the softer choice... Does this description helps you ?
