It might not be “professional” but you save a lot of money. I built my riser and same as you, just watched KZbin videos LOL I wanted to try to look into getting MoviePoster working with the Kaleidscape while I had it but I had to give it back since it was a loaner. But great job again on your theater man. You got the Trinnov so you’re already at end game status and I aspire to get one one day as well. 😁

Loved to see the rack components - I'd never heard of D-Zone but I'd heard of Tonewinner. Smart choice to use that for the Atmos and the better power for your mains and perhaps surrounds. We've been seeing so many amps now offering asymmetric power rating for speakers with higher power output reserved for the LCR. AVRs sort of do that where you see some delivering 200watts in 2 channel, then dropping to 100 watts for 7 but they don't reserve power thereby allowing an Atmos overhead speaker to get the same power as your front or center channel which makes no sense. You could probably power the Atmos speaker with a few 9 volt batteries yet your $4,000 AVR is treating it like it's a Klipsch LaScala.😁 I'd love to see AVRs with Class D start allowing asymmetric power distribution where they set the LCR to have 200 watts apiece and the other channels share 400 watts. Not all speakers are created equal.

Still to date one of the absolute best home theaters I have experience had the 212s, but Tony spends a ridiculous amount of time calibrating and has a fully acoustic treated room. It’s impossible to compare to different speakers in two completely different rooms with two completely different systems and completely different acoustics. There is nothing the 212s are lacking except if you were running them just in a two channel set up with no subwoofer. Then I would go with the 215s.

I've recently returned to this hobby after about 15 years (since meeting my Mrs). My room is very small..... 8ftx12ft with a 6.5ft ceiling....yes that's very small haha, I'm currently running:- LG 49" uhd TV Yamaha rxv650 7.1 Rotel rmb1066 bridged running LCR Mission 704a towers L+R Monitor audio bronze g5 centre Mordaunt short alumni 2 x 4 satalites Paradigm ps1000 v3 subs X2 I'm planning on upgrading the receiver for a marantz processor It's all overkill for a shed at the bottom of the garden but boy does it sound good. The rotel I only purchased 3 days ago but the difference is night and day, I have owned the rest for around 20years give or take and now I'm finding myself wanting to change my front towers. But every day is a school day, there's always something to learn Cheers for the content bud keep it coming

@@Youthman I definitely need Atmos in my life, the Yamaha has front presence output however if you choose to run surround back channels the presence channels are unavailable hence the need for a marantz

Amen bro 😎… With God all things are possible. Thanks for the encouragement😊. My dream is to own a full Jtr surround system and trinnov processor. I’m a future sound designer and I love sound and it’s becoming a very fulfilling career. Please let me know if you have any more advice on reaching this goal.

You need masking. JVC’s blacks are good but not even close enough to go without it. Masking makes a huge difference.

Hi. What's the gain of the screen and is it perf or weave? Its a 158". Wondering what FL you are getting in SDR and HDR.
@Kickinitwithd18

It’s a 1.3 gain woven acoustic material. What does FL mean?

From Google, “A footlambert (or foot-lambert) is a unit of luminance. It is used primarily in the projection industry to provide a value for luminance of images on a projection screen. 1 footlambert (fL) is equal to 3.43 candela per square meter (cd/m2).Jan 22, 2019”

How do the JBL Synthesis speakers' pair with the JTR? I'm wondering if he decided to pair them or was that a recommendation from a theater company/professional? With both companies using compression drivers, wondering how similar they are possibly different?

@@Kickinitwithd18 That's good to hear. One of my future builds includes a full JTR setup, but I want everything in-wall or behind the screen. A bit tough with those size speakers to put "in-wall". So was always looking for an alternative that features a similar compression driver. The JBL Synthesis has been crushing it since they've been released. I do believe Ascendo speakers are all compression drives as well. I'm sure you can't go wrong with either to pair with JTR. Heck, maybe I'll go with 3 RTJ towers in the front and JBL SCL-2 for sides and surrounds and for atmos use the SCL-3's. I've also read and heard from people that have owned both JTR and JBL M2, that the JBL M2's are insanely good. Might have to put those on the short list as well. So many choices!!! haha.
@Kickinitwithd18

@@Movieman2099 that would surely sound insane lol. Your definitely going to have to fork out some serious spare change, but your room is going to sing. If you have a big enough room you could build a baffle wall or frame up like mine to house some JTR speakers and go RTJ in-walls all around. That’d sound awesome as well I’m sure. However your JBL idea will be mind-blowing. Can’t go wrong either way.

I always envy those who enjoy those huge screens. I have eye fatigue with everything above 100” from 10 feet /3m. Especially with movies containing a lot of closeups and action scenes like LotR

Yeah I agree, my Wife reminded me that I forgot to mention that the color choice for the chairs was also because of the movie carpet we selected. Whenever we get it installed it’ll make more sense as to why we picked two different colors. Definitely will reach out to Youthman for a future update HT tour.
