I'm also a HUGE fan of batiks - they just never fail me. The play of color in them and how easy they are to pair with both other batiks but also "regular" fabrics always me happy to use them. They are like ultimate blender fabrics and can simultaneously be the star of a quilt. As for organization, I use the carboard "lids" or protective half boxes I get with my petfood deliveries from Chewies (easier to order canned pet food and have it delivered ( they put these protective half-boxes (or shallow 2 1/2 boxes on top of the can - so they don't get dented. These boxes are sturdy, and I like to use them as project boxes - generally I have one for ready to piece, one for extra fabric/leftovers/scraps, one for finished blocks/pieces. When I'm done with a quilt all the scraps get sorted and put in whatever container they belong to. And I can reuse the cardboard "lids" over and over. I can add little washi tape labels on them and easily take them off again. Best of all? there are Free :) I sometimes work on several projects at the same time, so they are really handy.

Those lids sound like a perfect organizer, Freddie! Keeping fabrics together while working on a quilt can get tricky if they're not separated. So glad to have you following along! Happy Quilting, Lea Louise

Glad you enjoyed it, Glenda! These are some beautiful batiks and such a perfect match among all the fabrics. I'm still amazed all these fabrics came together as randomly as they did. It just shows how important a fabric stash is - We NEED choices!🤣 Happy Quilting, Lea Louise

It really amazed me to open that FQ and see how perfect it was, Tiffany! Plus to add other fabrics that I've had for a few years was awesome, too. This will be a special quilt for me! I love how it's coming together. There may need to be more blocks to enlarge it a bit. 🤫 Even better is the leftover fabric I'll have to work with too. I just need to find the right pattern - definitely a scrappy sort of quilt. Thanks so much for visiting! Happy Quilting, Lea Louise

Oh my, I have been looking for fabric similar to the black on white or cream (I think that is the color) from the Wildwood Wander Sketchbook collection. Thanks for sharing the name and where you got it! I really like the fabrics that you selected. I struggle with liking scrappy quilts but I really want to enjoy them more. Watching how you put fabrics together has helped me. I just finished my 2nd Potato Chip Quilt using the 8 1/2" center block. I don't absolutely love them yet but I believe that once they are quilted I will.

I love this video! I've been saving some of the videos I watch because I want to make a quilt for my son in red and black. Those are his favorite colors and he wears them almost exclusively! I think this one might look good in those colors and I'm planning on incorporating some gray, of course, but I'm still not sure how I'm going to do it. So I've been collecting videos that might work and I have a few of yours! Thank you for another great video! If you have any suggestions please let me know. I'm a newbie and I don't know how to work this out but I'm going to try. ❤

Thanks, Susan. Batiks are a go-to for me in most every quilt! The squares in this quilt are cut at 10.5-inches. You can make it easier and just cut 10-inches. The extra half inch allowed me to use more of my fabric with less waste. There are total of 64 blocks, so you'll need 64 squares grouped into sets of four. Then you'll be on your way! Have fun making your quilt. Thanks for watching! Happy Quilting, Lea Louise
