Setting aside the inaccuracies in this particular video, I still have to question the wisdom of Atheists and non(anti?) Christians that insist that if a story from the Bible appears elsewhere in other cultures' mythologies this somehow means "Christianity is a lie that stole from other cultures." It seems to me that this actually is evidence the Biblical stories are likely true. We see this with the story of the flood. Many say "The authors of The Bible just ripped off the story of Gilgamesh". Sure, that's one theory, or another theory is that the flood actually happened and multiple cultures wrote about it.
@holdingpattern2458 ай бұрын
And of course the Sumerians would be the first to write the story down, they were the inventors of writing, that doesn't even remotely prove that they invented the story.
@akostarkanyi8258 ай бұрын
I think the biblical flood story is not from Gilgamesh but from another, culturally related story from rougly the same era, from the 'Atra-Hasis": en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atra-Hasis And inspite of being taken from (mostly) there the biblical stroy is still a true meassage from God for us because the differences of these stories are what count and they contain the essential message from God to us. Thus, the biblical stories about Creation, the Original Sin and the Flood are still important, relevant and of divine origin even if they should not be taken literally.

I've been thinking about this for a long time. Perhaps, if certain stories like the FLOOD appear in so many different cultures from all over the world in a time when travelling great distances was next to impossible, maybe it means that there's actually some truth to it. Then, it was authors who were inspired by these events to write works like gilgamesh or different people writing different accounts of it as seen from their perspective. Think about it, saying that they were all stolen from one source is unrealistic and unnecessary skepticism. Writing was not invented at the same time in all places, of course some would report on it before others.

Both sides in the Religion vs Science debates use the Materialism/Empiricism version of logic, math and physics. The problem is that Materialism/Empiricism says the observable universe is locally real...but quantum physics proved its actually not locally real a year ago. Well over 300 years ago Leibniz vs Newton competed for the title of Universal Genius. We chose Newton, obviously, but an interesting point is that nobody ever proved Materialism/Empiricism. The only proof that happened was a year ago when quantum physics flat-out DISproved Materialism/Empiricism. The observable universe is not locally real and that proves we chose the wrong guy. Leibniz said 0D is necessary and more real; having no predecessor and 1D, 2D, 3D, 4D are contingent and less real; having a predecessor. Leibniz was correct and that means we're all taught contradictory logic, math and physics. What is the difference between Newton and Leibniz calculus? Newton's calculus is about functions. Leibniz's calculus is about relations defined by constraints. In Newton's calculus, there is (what would now be called) a limit built into every operation. In Leibniz's calculus, the limit is a separate operation. Study zero (not-natural) vs nonzero (natural) numbers since the difference between 0 and 1 changed a year ago. Then: 0 = not locally real 1 = locally real Now: 0 = locally real 1 = not locally real Rick Sanchez collapsed a Galactic Federation by changing a 1 into a 0 (economically, but you get the idea).

The Greek Myth of Prometheus and Epimetheus: In this myth, the Titan brothers create humans and animals. Prometheus shapes humans from clay, and Epimetheus gives animals their attributes. Prometheus later defies Zeus to give fire to humans, which parallels the theme of disobedience and the acquisition of knowledge. The Sumerian Myth of Inanna and Dumuzi: This story, which predates the biblical account by about 500 years, involves themes of creation, temptation, and the fall from grace.

hello, Just curious. I once heard IP said that he believed that Adam was the 1st priest. Is there any good book about Adam as a priest?

The bar for skepticism of anything rejecting God and Christ is on the floor while if they applied the same skepticism towards the world they applied to Christ, they wouldnt be able to decide on anything, ever.

If you don't mind, can you make a video about the relationship between enki and ninti and Adam and Eve? It is perhaps the biggest challenge for the case of Adam and Eve

Bro IP forgets that Abraham was from Mesopotamia where the Annunaki and other Mesopotamian stories are from. Logical syllogism follows that Abraham's god was either a Mesopotamian deity or one of the Annunaki. Abraham dined with 2 angels and the god he believed in. Your god needed to eat food.

@@koosalagoopagoop The cycle of belief to unbelief and back to belief is real and unrelenting. I have looked into many areas of evidence from the great ancient civilizations and despite that, I have believed in christianity and lost it and gained it back over 50 times in the past 2 to 3 years.

@InspiringPhilosophy Can you please explain the context of 1 Timothy 2:12 in its entirety, and personally comment my user name when you do? I am being somewhat persecuted due to this scripture, and could really use a keen eye and years of research and wisdom to fully plead my case with this verse. What is your take on it Sir? Thanks.

Straightforward lies about ancient stories with fancy pictures and a deep voice, that is some pretty classic propaganda with nefarious aims and nefarious claims.

Although I am not affirmative saying that the Bible is from Sumerian mythology, the Epic of Gilgamesh and Enuma Eilish have many similarities and parallels to the creation story in Genesis. The surface of "the deep" (tehom in Hebrew) referring to the waters is a cognate of Tiamat, which also refers to "the deep" in the Akkadian language. Tiamat's remnant body after the battle with Marduk becomes the substance of creation from which life is made. In Genesis 1:2, God creates life after his Spirit hovers over the surface of the deep. The Snake in the Epic of Gilgamesh has the same exact attributes to the serpent that tempted Adam and Eve, as they both are said to be cunning. In the Epic of Gilgamesh, the snake was one of the reasons why Gilgamesh didn't acquire immorality, and the snake in Genesis challenges God's statement that Adam and Eve will die after they eat the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Additionally, early Judaism as expressed in the Torah has many similarities to other ancient Semitic religions in the sense of evil being conceived as a result of chaos challenging cosmos.

Wrong. Just watch his other videos.
@None-if3mo8 ай бұрын
If anything you seem try to connect things unrelated. Epic gilgamesh has been added or modified, to fit the audience at the time. If anything the whole story is totally different if you actually read the bible
@None-if3mo8 ай бұрын
If anything evil/sin in the bible didn't come from chaos "challenging" cosmos, it didn't even start with that. It came from curiosity.
@user-yh6tt2nu4p8 ай бұрын
@@None-if3mo Chaos is disorder and cosmos is order. This principle of purity/non-purity in the Pentateuch/Torah clearly represents this concept. Evil is considered anything that is impure according to the Law provided by God to Moses. For that reason, God can kill innocent people (like David's son and the firstborn of the Egyptians) as a consequence of direct violation against his law/covenant. Another example of this was when Uzzah was killed by God for touching the Ark instinctively to keep it from falling, a violation of his divine law. Cosmos/order refers to anything that is in the law or will of God and chaos is the opposite. This is a concept in the Enuma Eilish story as well. Marduk represents the order that succeeds the chaos that happened in the generation of Tiamat before him.

Hey IP Mathew 28:2 suggests the group of women came to the tomb then the stone was moved. How do I reconcile this with the other gospel accounts?
@stephengray13448 ай бұрын
Suggests is not the same thing as explicitly states. The fact that Matthew 28:1 talks about the women going to the tomb does not necessarily mean that Matthew 28:2 happens after they arrived there.

Survivors of the titanic had different descriptions of how the ship went down, all still agreed the ship sank. Police expect different witnesses to have different details of events for it to not seem collaborated. The 4 gospels differ on where Jesus was arrested, the details of the tomb discovery, and 2 other that I cant remember. How I tackle these differences is that the 4 gospels conclude the same outcome, Christ was killed then He resurrected, and that they (and their scribes) did not collaberate on their writings during the different years they were written. But I am curious how IP would answer this.

You could've used other stories that are more similar with Adam and Eve that are older than it. But you choose these? Come on.
