Inspiron 1440 Hard Disk Not Detected Help Please :)

I already tried resetting the HDD.took it out and put it back in 3 times..Pls dont mention that anymore..everyone keeps saying that already..all forums...all tech guys that i know..pls i TRIED THAT ALREADY i also Used a external Enclosure with no luck..and tried to boot from it,didnt work..Anyone Help Thanks :)

For me the same thing happened with my first laptop, (same model as yours) I had to get the hard drive replaced. Since laptops like that one, (which are older, naturally) tend to super hot on the internal circuits, to much heat for too long destroys the hard drives from heat damage. With mine. Over the span of hard drives I had, they gradually failed quicker to the point where I ended up blowing 80 dollars a month just for a new hard drive. So your best bet is either getting a new laptop or finding a way to fix the overheat issue with the laptop itself

I bought dell Inspiron 1440 on 16th april of 2010. Today is 23rd dec 2019.. working just fine with win 7 ultimate. Battery is down . So I had changed this 4years ago. Otherwise response is fine. No other issue .

Hi, I'm having the same problem right now (Dell Inspiron 11 3000). I went through the onboard diagnostics and every component passed the tests however the hard drive couldn't be found. I was wondering if you manage to solve the problem? I watched a few videos and maybe we need to plugged the hard drive out and back in again?

LHTurn the machine off completely. Unplug everything. Turn the laptop upside down, and remove the battery. On the side where the mic and speaker sockets are, look for 2 screws that hold the drive in. Unscrew those, and pull it out (to the the side), then put it back.

Just fixed mines , open the back and fix the disk properly .

Brother its happen same with me problem is HDD so change the boot drive or remove HDD disk and clean the dust hope it will work with you

Same issue here, the Dell analisys software says the disk is OK. I check it through an Ubuntu Live USB and the hard drive appears without issues, so what the f... It all started when I tried to install Manjaro Linux in a partition of my 1TB HD. Ive tried all UEFI options and nothing. Oh and while trying the UEFI, I now cant choose the Hard Drive (Ubuntu not present)in the boot order list in the UEFI.

I think ur hdd problm... I dnt knw bt can try: #1 make sure ur hdd is working correctly #2 try rebooting with another hdd #3 try to format ur hdd with another pc #4 check ur bios
