Hi Ben. firstly thank you very much for taking the time and effort to make this and all of your tutorial vids. I don't know if you realise how very informative and helpful they are to us NOOBs who have 360 videos and how to get the most out of them. Take a bow and a BIG thumbs👍 up.

Great stuff always - thanks for taking the time to make these! Do you think they will bring the new features in the mobile app down to the studio version? My fat fingers work better there!

Nice Ideas Ben ;) What i could recommend is use the Frame Interpolation - Optical Flow instead of Normal , if the movement is not to heavy, it gives you a smooth slomo effect if shooting with 30 FPS. Is it possible to doublicate Projects in Insta360 Studio ? I was not able to do it.
@BenClaremont19 күн бұрын
You can create multiple versions of the same clip on the right hand side, I think it’s under project management (the tab with the ‘folder’ icon 👍🏻

Very nice tips! Thanks! Do you have some tips to eliminate or minimise bobbing while walking?
@BenClaremont19 күн бұрын
Thanks - yep if you hold the selfie stick with 2 hands, you can normally keep it somewhat still and not bobbing.

Thank you! I enjoyed these tips. Currently, I use an Insta360X3 and am contemplating getting an X4. Overall, I love the X3, but the X4 does seem to produce better quality images. Looks like the zoom is much better, too. Do you think it's a good investment to upgrade just a bit?
@BenClaremont19 күн бұрын
It’s a nice camera for sure, but only like 20% better than X3. Check out my review for my full thoughts 😀

Thanks Mr. Ben. Do you usually plan how you might want the final shot to look like or do you shoot and edit later?
@BenClaremont20 күн бұрын
Thanks! Honestly it’s 50/50 - sometimes it’s easy to plan an edit in advance, but a lot of the time you find something in the edit that works way better than your original idea. So always good to experiment 👍🏻

Hi Ben. Great content. I have an EVO…should I buy the EGO? I didn’t see ANY review from your channel on the EGO, so I don’t know what to do?! I bought the EVO years ago, based on your awesome review, but now I am lost …. lost without you and your advice. My goal is an easier way to watch 3D content on my Quest 3 and my Sony 3D projector (with glasses). The EVO was confined to the Oculus GO, and it was not fun (overheating shutdown, etc). Look forward to your thoughts.

Hey Ben been watching your videos for years on the 360 camera content and I know your pivoting to other content now, but I have a cuestion about what app do you recomend me to do an aerial virtual tour, its like a developer site of a company that is selling patches of land, so I want to put overlays of the land in the 360 pano and have the ability to link videos and photos. thanks for everything

Do you go to the Sydney Opera House late arvo for shadows or just because it happens that way? BTW Very cool, thanks!
@BenClaremont20 күн бұрын
No worries - not really, I just go to the opera house when I have the time. There are always shadows somewhere 😀

Got my insta360 x4 today, I'm likely going to use it like a multicam source in traditional video editing. One feature I couldn't immediately find in a logical place: can I cut to a different camera position instantly? Like I frame a wide view and a closeup view and cut between the two instantly, without any motion in between.

When doing location sweep , how do you control the direction it will rotate ? CW or CCW .

Thanks - a suggestion - you can add the latest Dav.Res.-19 - newly added transition - if you want I can give you 5m/2kg -long fiberglass poll -so you can come up with even more drone/insta-video ideas (+ attache 3m-stick on top = 8m =drone - yupeeee) - My house is 100m from the Hyde Park

Thank you so much! I have so much footage from my OneR 1 inch that I know I’m not processing the way it deserves :-) by the way, do you reframe most of your footage or do you also post to 360 platforms! If yes, which ones? And most of all - will you be doing tutorial on editing the actual 360 (without reframing) ? I watch Hugh, bit his stuff is a bit overwhelming.
@BenClaremont19 күн бұрын
Thanks- yes I will definitely make a tutorial about the immersive format, even though I don’t do it a lot myself.

Any idea when they will invest more in editing tools for 360 video that isnt reframed?
@ChrisMitchells_FlyingCameras15 күн бұрын
Hey Ben, I’m still working out the differences between Media and Project. Why did you use Media instead of Project to edit these clips.
@GunnTales15 күн бұрын
Yes why?
@JoeZorzin14 күн бұрын
off topic question for the owner of this channel I'm thinking of getting a new camera but I'm confused. I have an original X1. I'm considering an X4, or a "real" camera with real lenses (sacrificing 360 of course), and my first "smart" phone. Since I've never had a smart phone- I have no idea how good the photography and video can be on them- the better ones of course. What I don't understand is how can a tiny lens on a smart phone compare to the bigger lenses on a good 360 camera or a "real" camera? I suspect that the tiny lens can't compete with big lenses in low light situations, but how about on a nice sunny day?
@Rebely7220 күн бұрын
for me, the video jerks during the location sweep just like yours. can this be made smoother?
@BenClaremont20 күн бұрын
Mine doesn’t jerk… but yes you can smooth it out in many ways. 1) make the movement slower, 2) shoot at 60fps, 3) slow it down to slow motion.

i wish that Dewarping would actually work, all that barreling and cushioning after hitting that "fake" dewarping buttons is so annoying.... They seem to never learn .....
@BenClaremont14 күн бұрын
It does work. But if you zoom out too far, it will cause another kind of stretching effect, due to needing more pixels from somewhere to go into an extreme wide shot.
@Beauty.and.FashionPhotographer14 күн бұрын
@@BenClaremont NO!, it certainly does NOT work, they do what is called rectangular corrections to fix barrelling and /or cushioning, but the the sizes of things gets stretched incredibly in the outside areas of the canvas. a correct de-barreling or decushioning would never lengthen such areas on the outside of the canvas. Again, these are correctable "software corrections" to fix such cheap lenses , yet they still have not learned and leave it as is, instead of fixing this. There is software out there that can do this, and i am not speaking about cheap thrills like adobe premiere or some plugins or FCPX etc., ...i am talking about software that costs several thousand dollars, and is used in Hollywood to fix lens distortions on Arri , Cooke or Panavision, etc.,etc., lenses, this is a process that is always done before a Hollywood blockbuster production ...and lengthy tiring week long calibration of each lens they usually rent for these productions(yes they rent them!!). You see such Chinese manufacturers could do these correct calibrations as well, yet they think that their consumer would never realize nor want these "correct" dewarpings. Thats where they are so very wrong.
