I just wish Instacart would stop stealing our tips for things that are out of stock, on sale or priced lower than retail.

Darling, maybe you didn't have it before, but most of us had that. Our groceries were at our door the same day by amazon Prime.

InstaCart's 10% Service Fee is no longer optional. After being a customer for over a year, I renewed my membership only to find out that the service fee is now mandatory, although I had not been previously notified of this at the time of my renewal. When I asked InstaCart about this, they avoided the fact that there was no notification for this new charge, and suggested that I simply just not tip the shoppers in order to make up for the service charge. InstaCart shoppers are already typically not people you'd want to let in your front door; they replace cheaper items with the more expensive, or pricier, larger sizes, and they make many mistakes on your order. I don't know if Amazon may not be as quick to deliver, but I'm betting they are a darn site better by way of their service, period. Also: InstaCart does not tell you that if you've renewed your membership, but haven't placed an order within 30 days, you still have time to cancel the service. I'm glad I pestered them until I found all this out, but if you don't ask, InstaCart does not offer any information. The company is questionable at best. Amazon wins.

Wow you sound like a real jerk. So your basically calling the employees low class because you wouldnt want them in your house. Go buy your own groceries then snob.

Here's a hint, Instacart. Try taking your website through a usability lab. Try adding the delivery dates for the order page (when theres more than one order, good luck finding the one you want.) The adding an item page is riddled with bugs. You can't add an item for a delivery the next day if the item has been assigned a shopper? I don't give a shit if my oder has been assigned a shopper, I want to be able to add items to my order the night before. Also, maybe try picking shoppers with an IQ over 90 so they don't substitute a tortilla for sushi. And tell the truth--any item that makes the shopper wait in line will be substituted for a shelf item because the shopper doesn't want to wait. Really horrific.

Channel Three anyone with a higher iq than 90 wouldnt work for thier crappy wages. Today my third day giving it a go i made a whopping $4 per hour. Other drivers are reporting that instacart is stealing a portion of their tips. Their app sucks, their treating their shoppers and drivers like slaves, they mark up every single item and keep all store discounts...

7 yrs later and they still haven't figured it out! Its even worse for shoppers aft this new year.. There's only one store in town now that has the isles numbered on the app (thats kinda important).. and the weight of things has been changed to units ie: if someone orders 12oz of ketchup it now says 12units!.. + the pictures don't match the items/descriptions.. the flavors/scents aren't listed (you have to zoom in on the picture and hope that's the flavor they actually wanted).. The picture will show a half gallon of milk but the description says 2gal!?.. Aft all the billions and almost a decade later, they still cant even hire some beta testers to actually use the app and work out basic bugs?!? wth

@@MrCard031584 yep instacart steals tips from almost every order i do.. its something to do with this 'auto adjusting tip' they do.. if something gets refunded or is on sale or cheaper than the retail price.. the price of the order goes down therefore your tip goes down.. I've seen it go down as much as $3.73 on a 19$ order.. now multiply that by 500K+ workers and thats millions daily that the company is basically stealing from us.

@rogerwilco1777 I haven't worked for them since I wrote this. Glad you commented and reminded me why I left them behind. Just saw some girl on KZbin make just under $10k in 30 days and was thinking about giving it another shot. Obviously that was a foolish idea. All the work app gig economy apps are screwing the workers. While our necessities double, triple, and more they hold us down and keep our wages from equally rising with inflation. I truly believe every single one of them is only allowed to exist if they assist in keeping people poor. They could help realize true equality and allow us to compete with global corporations yet they choose to fight us. When we make more, they make more. Meaning there are definitely alternative motivations.

After my 3rd day giving instacart a shot as a full service shopper i made a whopping $4 per hour. I discovered they are charging shoppers extra for every item and keeping all store discounts as well. Ive also seen countless reports of instacart keeping a portion of drivers tips. What a terrible company to work for. Would you really want people who can not afford deoderant and tooth paste not to mention food and housing to be handleing your groceries? In my opinion steer clear from instacart until they decide to take care of their drivers and put people before earnings...

This comment was from a couple years ago when instacart first came to Las Vegas, NV. Being more home remodeling orientated Taskrabbit has worked out much better for me. This was an honest review of my experience with the company. I'd give them another shot, but when I worked for them I litteraly made $4 per hour. Almost every other delivery service except for Uber paid better...
