Hey all, thanks for watching and commenting! I must add that I understand the potential hazard of using an extender with a carbon steerer tube. This bike will see no hard riding as it'll be used as a light cruiser. That said, this is an installation vid so it's about the method, not the model lol!

Dang! That's neat, when you said "flat bar" I was envisioning some kind of ape hanger set up. The only thing that bothers me is the stem torque crush on the extender without a plug on there under the top cap.

Ape's would work lol! Yeah, I see your concern but that would require its own DIY video since the manufacturers didn't think it was needed. Thanks for the idea and support!

If the streerer tube is carbon, Iam a little concerned if the extention is safe. It creates too much bending force at the top, like an extended lever. I would not do that myself.

Great point! How concerned are you about an aluminum or steel steer tube? It is an installation video after all, many people watching DIY videos don't have carbon bikes.

Hmm…. Careful clamping that frame! Hopefully it’s not cracked now. You may notice that the new handlebar height throws things off with the riding position. For example, the more upright the position, the more pressure it puts on your rear end. I did something like this and it ended up hurting my knees. Good luck!

Thanks for caring! Subscribe to see what I actually do to it! Or my hospital visit? LOL!

Better to sell the bike and buy a used hybrid. Carbon steerer race bikes should never have accessories like these installed as they are too are fragile. In any case, if you need so many spacers the geometry of the bike is not for you and it will likely create other problems.
