Absolute love my hunter Rail. Nick from vortex mounted it onto the rifle after the hunt for me. It played a key part in killing my whitetail this year in Wyoming. Had it clippped into the tripod while we snuck in and when the buck stood up I was ready. I love their stuff. I now have their muzzle breaks for two rifles and a second acra plate on my back up rifle. I also plan to get their tac table for NRL hunter matches. Great products.

Come hunt with me in CO and you can take that ARCA plate I ended up with back with you. No chance am I shipping it! Has to be a face to face, man to man transaction. So glad you introduced me and the HuntLeague Community to SRS. Hoping to get JJ ringing steel at 600+ here soon after adding the rail.

I'm glad I found your video - I have some Manfrotto gear and I want to do this on my Tikka composite stock so I can mount the Magpul M-Lok. Should be fun! I might even fill the back of the stock with epoxy, to help with sound mitigation (right now, with the stock being hollow, every shot echoes inside the stock, so this will help stop that).

I am sure filling in some of the gaps will make a big difference. My son and I are really happy we did this with that rifle as it is shooting great and that Salmon River Solutions Rail is rock solid when attached to the tripod. For the butt stock or just filling gaps you may do a minimal expansion foam that can be shaved down or sanded. That will help keep the weight down and it should eliminate sound and some vibration.

@@huntleague My rifle weighs less than 8 lbs with the scope and Harris bipod, so weight isn't a huge concern, especially if I'm going to be using a tripod - but I have to agree about the choice of filler. The volume of epoxy required in the butt stock would make the back end ridiculously heavy. I happen to have a can of expanding foam, though it appears this stuff expands a lot - I guess I can always test the expansion, and then try it, and scrape it out if it doesn't work well. The company that is selling the M-Lok has it on sale (clearance) for less than half price, so no better time to buy, methinks!

Does this rail have a slight radius so is hugs/wraps the semi rounded hunting stock? I like your process of filling in the voids with epoxy. Thanks!
@huntleague2 ай бұрын
It does have a built in radius. I believe they make one that is flat as well but the one I installed would probably work on either. We have been SUPER pleased with this entire setup. Hoping to take it out next week for our first real hunt with it.

Great video, i think iam going to order a hunter rail from Salmon River Solutions, what fastener option did you get?
@huntleagueАй бұрын
For this build I went with the 1/4-20 which is a slightly larger diameter screw than the 10-32 metric fastener. We are still loving this SRS rail and really happy with this rifle setup. It is super versatile with both the Arca and Pic option. You will love it!

Is this hunter rail the "long" or "short" version? I have the same rifle and plan on doing the same install.
@huntleague26 күн бұрын
Great choices all the way around! We installed the short rail which is just over 10.5" and I love the way it fits on the Cascade XT. Zero regrets. Works amazing.

Man,so sorry, am not judging but in all fairness, you missed checking your firearm for live round, 2nd you should never pick up barreled action from scope

There's one saftey Sally in every vid it seems..and with a quality scope and rings it shouldn't hurt a thing gently handling in this manner
