Nice video, but is what the purpose for these covers?? Additional protection? The crash bars to a decent job. I've dropped by GSA twice and no cylinder head damage.

Mam Covers are great for street-ridden GS bikes w/o crash bars. You can drop the bike completely and these will do an amazing job. If you ONLY run crash bars, rocks, debris and things sticking up out of the ground can still penetrate the cylinder head guards and leave you stranded so this is a best-case scenario which is Bars + covers. If you watch this full video, you'll see guys with AltRider Guards alone (and very dinged up, sometimes damaged heads) and guys with AltRider + the MAM guards in my video kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmGWioKcad-lg6c

No problem getting the bars back on after?

I switched from OEM bars to AltRider. Perfect fit although left side (driver side) is a little tight on the bottom.

how much you torque the torx bolt?

8.14 ~8.59 Nm Newton/meters for the T50. Not listed for the T25s on the top and bottom. I didn't force them...just got them tightened down enough to feel tight.
