You’re not supposed to unless you don’t want them to permanently loc up

You could use product while twisting and putting gel or grease at the root of the the twist if you’re planning to take it down after a month or a few weeks

Sister locks seem to start off like a palm roll of some sort at the bottom they are not braided at the root seems like they roll it twice or more and split the portion in half then continuously insert the bottom into the top until it’s secured..that’s my observation

I have 4b hair and I have micros. Micros can be an issue if too small (mostly due to maintenance) but an experienced stylist can give more information on what will work for your hair density and health

They go bold because they put a lot of damaging chemicals on their hair like that black tar liquid on hair to put on an extra hair. I know this because some of my black friends regret putting on that tar liquid on the hair it doesn’t let the pores breathe and releases the hair. We all know that’s true - I have seen it first hand. 🤯🤯🤯🫣
