install gotoblas before following this video. download openblass in tar,gz formate from their web compile it with g fortran. compilation steps 1 extract openBlas 2 cd to directory 3. make FC=gfortran 4. sudo make install. Now you have openblass install wien2k following the method in this video anther important thing is also install fftw.

Hello sir, what should be the hardware requirement in PC to do wien2k calculations in individual level? Kindly suggest. Would core i5 with 4GB RAM and 1 TB be sufficient? Also whether the performance of branded and assembled PC same? Assembled is cheaper for me!

Wien2k can run even on core i3 but for larger calculation like material with larger number of atoms you will need very fast computer, and ram and hardrive doesn't matter much but processor matter, you need to very faste processor, core i7 is good with multi cores and threts . Core i5 is ok for normal calculation,

Only processor matter , if don't have power down issue then work station or desktop computer will be better if you have power down issue in your country then a laptop will be good

i have followed the all steps and while am runing the program it encounters a error in x dstart /home/WIENROOT/dstart: Command not found. 0.000u 0.000s 0:00.00 0.0% 0+0k 0+0io 0pf+0w error: command /home/WIENROOT/dstart dstart.def failed please help me to solve this issue

Other people too are reporting this problem but i think you should contact with the one who provided you the code. Second try to run from terminal in expert mood and check where the problem still exist, secondly perform each step before reaching x dstart and try to run in single mood untick parallel mood option.

This works on Linux operation systems only. You can use virtual machine as windows host and running Linux in virtual machine. But that will run very slow
