Install Wixey DRO on Jet 208hh Stationary 20 Woodworking Planer Digital Readout for better accuracy

Just did this install on my Jet JWP-208HH and you saved me a lot of time. Thanks! The 8mm bolt you said you used to mount the scale is actually 10mm, in case anyone else does this install. I also flipped the readout metal attaching piece backwards and mounted next to the wheel on the top with 3M automotive double sided tape. Cleaned with alcohol first, as I've learned to do.

😂 just came here to say that. I went out and got 8mm bolts, then had to RTFM and get some 10mm bolt. Really thankful that Jet has exploded parts diagrams of all their products in the manuals.

Thanks for putting this together; I was able to get this set up on my 20" grizzly without any trouble at all. Works great, really should be standard equipment for these machines..

Amazingly the Jet planer didn't come with a DRO, so I've never used that brand. I have the Wixey on this and my Laguna planer and they're great.

Does the read out read in inch scale like 13/16 or do I have to do conversion scale

It shows decimals until you hit a fraction like 13/16 then it displays both. Very accurate on my planer. Thanks.

Reading the reviews on amazon, a lot of people said they're having issues with keeping it calibrated. Have you had similar issues?

Zero issues with calibration. It's just super accurate all the time. I got the digital calipers out to double check finished dimensions for the first two weeks. Then you just forget about it, because the scales always agree. You'll love the Wixey remote DRO.

Looks really good, you mentioned your clip on your bandsaw, would the same digital scale work on a band saw or do they have a scale with a little less extreme percision that work on a band saw?

I haven't heard of a Wixey gauge for the bandsaw, but the Tablesaw gauge might be adaptable.
