Nice vid. I took delivery of my G1021X2 a couple days ago. I got it all assembled, cleaned, and dialed in. All that's left is to mount my Wixey and I will definitely be using this video as a reference.

I’ve got the same planer and I had attatched it just a little differently , and performs amazingly. I may get one for the drum sander. Correction, definitely getting one for the drum sander. Great video.

Thanks for the video, I just restored an old delta dc33 planer and was going to purchase the other gauge for the benchtop planer, and it was going to take some modifications. With this one its $20 higher and no modifications needed. After your video I looked into the instructions for this one and it can be mounted on a planer that's bed is stationary. Thanks again

Yea there are different mounting location based on how the planer head and bed operates. Glad you found some value from this.

Looks like a great device for improving precision in the dimensioning process. I am however surprised that in 2020 with all the technology available that they are offering a product to market that's connecting a sensor to a readout device with a cat 5 cable. I'm also a cyclist and Garmin and the like have been using Bluetooth / Ant+ to connect speed, power, heart rate, cadence sensors to a heads up display unit for well over 10 years probably more like 15 so it is pretty stable and reliable tech. Can't understand why Wixey aren't doing the same. Any thoughts?

That's definitely something to think about. My thought is because you're dealing with .001” dimensions, it's possible that using some of wireless connection there might be issues with accuracy. I am by no means a tech expert, but that would be my assumption.

My planer doesn't have at outfeed table or rollers. do you think the bracket would be able to mount directly to the planer bed?

It's been a while but I believe you can mount it to the head unit. Should show you multiple mounting options in the manual
