Installation : MagicJack Plus

www.Alfred.TV READ ME FIRST: I finally unbox and install the MagicJack Plus, which must have rotted on the shelf for about 4 years. Yes, the jokes suck - but this is me, unfiltered. Update - June 2017: The MagicJack Plus has now been in use for over a year - no problems, and I did indeed renew the service! Enjoy the video - Alfred.!

Entertaining as always... I didn't think anyone had a MajicJack anymore. Never heard of a MagicJack Plus. But I think I saw one in a prono once. Salute! I got a MajicJack as a gift a few years back. Once I find it I'll give it a shot. I don't have AT&Turd here in Oregon (that's Orygun for those back east), I have Century-Stink. Hmm, maybe those two should shag up. Anyway, keep the bad jokes coming Alfred.

Hi John - All in good fun. I’m still using the system with no problem. A security feature prompts the caller to press a number for the call to go through. As such, no more robo calls! I do recommend it to this day!

I've had the magicJack me off Pus since 2013 (approximately when you got yours but decided not to open it) and it works great 90% of the time. Now that damn magicJack Go is out and I don't know if it's any good. Can you do a review on the magicJack me off Goo?

Hi Eva - I have not gone through the registration process since my initial install (and yes, I am still using the service). I helped a few other family members set it up within the last two years, and I recall using the web browser and email was most likely involved in the process. Perhaps a family member or friend with a laptop can give you some assistance. - Alfred

Magic Jack stand up comedy ! Cool ! .... I have a question, Sir ... I use ATT for internet and phone ... If I tell ATT I just want internet but no phone, I still have to use the phone jack for internet connect from them, correct?

Does anyone know if once you have chosen to use at home or on computer, that is IT? You are stuck with that choice? I expected it to be interchangeable, to be able to use either or as one chooses. Say WHAT? Have had and loved MagicJack for years. Been years too that I've had this and not bothered with it. This either or screen is a huge surprise. Would also like to know if incoming calls are made at cost to the caller.--even when in same city! Some years ago I was told my MJ they were. Can this be true? How useless would that be.

Bought my mj plus long ago also. Now when registering I"m asked how I want to use it. Computer plug in OR using plugged into modem or router. Choose EITHER/OR? Does this mean one OR the other. I thought I'd be able to switch back and forth. Know anything about this? Sorry, if someone's said. I"m being impatient after all these years.

Getting ready to do this Friday. I'm in the same situation, saving my existing phone number I've had for years is the goal. From what I've read, they supposedly send a confirmation number when it's been successfully ported. How long did it take to port your number? Less than 48 hrs? Comcast just keeps increasing the fees. All I really need is good high speed internet. Can't wait to get the MJ and also buy a modem and eliminate the 10.00 per/mo modem fees for my internet service Thanks ahead of time and thanks for the time taken to produce this video--useful info:)

I'm 100% sure I'll buy this, get it home, and not have a "Y" splitter or some such. I'm sure I'll be looking at 1 ethernet port, and two cords that go into one slot. Nothing ever works as advertised. Nothing ever.

I agree. Nothing works. Even Apple crap isn't as 'magical' as they advertise these days. I've certainly have had my share of problems and blatant hardware failures.
