I just installed the same Dawsons on mine today... your video was immensely helpful. Surprisingly I didn't need to custom size anything, both sights went in with not much effort, didn't even need to use the pusher for the rear (it was helpful with taking the original rear sight out though). Hardest part was getting the front site pin back in, but even that wasn't that bad. Originally I considered getting a gunsmith to do this but your video made it look simple so I gave it a go and I'm happy I did. Thank you!

@@workthetrigger i will have to check out what they are. For whatever reason i like how the factory suppressor height sights position the pistol a tiny bit lower and how easy they are to pick up. The only thing i would change would be add a big dot on the front. Fast to pick up. Have trijicon hd's on my ppq. Great ccw sights.
@workthetrigger6 жыл бұрын
@@voltairee3012 HD's are my favorite sight. I have a video on the P01 sights, check it out. they're not HDs, but they mimic the large front dot, blacked out rear, and have an easier to align night sight setup with the figure 8 dot over dot.
@rgraz49293 жыл бұрын
If you see scratch marks on the right side of the sight (like the two CZ 75 compacts I own), then it was factory installed from left to right. If it was installed from right to left, then there would not be scratch marks on the right side.
@rgraz49293 жыл бұрын
I just replaced my P-01 rear sight with a CZC tactical. I only remove material off of the rear angle of the SIGHT'S dovetail and never the bottom and measure repeatedly with calipers. Even though I was filing material perfectly within a 100th of a mm , the sight ended up going on easier from right to left, even though I was planning on putting it on from left to right like the factory sight is installed. But the strange thing is..... I did my PCR sights a few years ago and the SAME THING happened.. going on easier from right to left. My conclusion is the dovetail angles on the slide are not perfectly parallel (by design or not) even though the left side should be larger because of the wear it creates from factory install.
@rgraz4929 Жыл бұрын
@@tabooretka Thanks for the reply. Because when going from L to R, the right side of the sight goes in first through the dovetail.. The left of the sight will not be scratched because it doesn't go thru the dovetail. That's why you see fine scratches on the right of the dovetail, if it's inserted from L to R. EDIT: HOWEVER, when fitting a new rear sight, don't assume the dovetail opening is bigger on the side it was installed from by the factory. When taking material off to fit a new sight, constantly hand check the fit from BOTH SIDES. What ever side goes in further (1/3 - 1/2 way by hand) , that's the side you insert the sight from. (take it from experience lol)

Did I miss you tightening the small allen screw down on the front sight using the tiny allen wrench given with the Dawson sights? It helps keep that front sight "snug". Impressed you didn't have to sand more on the sights...it took me a lot more "sanding-fitting" on the EZ-D sights from CGW which I believe are Dawson sights, than you had to do... great job. Thanks for sharing.
@zenadventurer694 жыл бұрын
Turbo Pa On the CZ, the front site is held in with a roll pin (also holds in the barrel bushing). You push it in and our with a 2mm roll pin punch. The allen wrench is used for locking in the rear sight. Dawson recommends not putting the lock tite under the site but rather just using it on a few threads to lock in the sets screw on the rear sight. Other than that, this vid is a must watch if you’re going to attempt this yourself (I have a CZ 75D Compact/PCR...Dawson sights were made specifically for this model and don’t fit any other CZ).
