Do you need the groundwire for the audio to work? I have been reading some posts about it being required for the audio to work properly

Is this port intended to be used this way? It's supposed to be an input, but it just happens the POE port will supply power to this. How many do you have out deployed like this? are they still working? or did you blow the camera.

I can't be 100 percent sure about it's intended use. You almost have to assume so since the camera has audio input so it would have to have power for the audio. I have two running in this fashion with no issues at all. They've been running for years

Is this only a mic, or is it also a speaker to support two way audio? If not do you know of a speaker and mic that would work with a setup like?
@Rob-19738 ай бұрын
It’s a microphone only, sorry. I know hikvision makes at least one camera with microphone and speaker. I have one, but the microphone and the speaker are built-in

I have hikvision panocam it doesn't have the two port green 12v connector. How do I power it?? Do I really have to run a dedicated 12v plug and fish it through the wall again

@@chinchilla505 Do you know the model of panocam you have? Looks like Hikvision makes 18 (current). I know at least one or more have audio built in, I assume yours doesn't. If I know the model maybe I can see the connectors from the manual / docs www.hikvision.com/en/products/IP-Products/Network-Cameras/Panoramic-Series/?category=Network+Products&subCategory=Network+Cameras&series=Panoramic+Series&checkedSubSeries=NONE

@Rob-1973 DS-2CD2387G2P-LSU/SL ColorVu 8MP It has the audio in audio out 4port connector only. Yes it does have audio built in. But it's incredibly poor quality, worse than my $40 ring stick up camera . So wanted to wire the hikvision standalone mic to it. Seems like they give the external mic option bc they know the internal one is trash, but at the same time it looks like it requires a dedicated 12v wire connection off a wall plug.
