I recently purchased this bolt and this video was invaluable in installing it. The only trouble I had was keeping a grip holding the rod and recoil spring in place while installing the bolt. A leather glove solved the problem for me. I used the 25 inch lb recommended torque on the handle but it still vibrated loose so recommend some blue locktite on the threads. Probably should use a 20 inch lb torque with the locktite. This bolt is the finest that's available anywhere and well worth the asking price. Never had a single feeding or extraction issue since installing it. 👍

I pieced together an ultra lite. The bolt finish is amazing would be interesting if the inside of the receiver had the same.

Can you safely dry fire or can the firing pin hit the breach face? It appears to be below it on my take down.

You can safely dry fire with our bolt as it won't contact the breech face. If you're planning on a lot of dry fire though, we'd still recommend something like snap caps.

I've bought almost all Volquartsen parts for my 10/22, is there any better brand? I mean the machine work is always good, the quality is top notch, and sure you pay a bit more but I'm happy to do so for American made and good quality.

Hi At the 2 minute mark of reinstalling my bolt into my volquartsen, the recoil rod and spring, slipped from the locating lug , just as the bolt was slipped under the slide guide. The result was that the bolt has jamed, unable to be mover backwards or forwards because the recoil rod has slipped out of the bolt. Is this something that has been duplicated before (in the factory) and what is the solution? - apart from cutting the guid rod. This was the second clean of this rifle.

What was the solution? I've see this issue before but haven't found a fix. This is what is keeping me from getting this bolt. Everything else I have gotten from Volquartson has been an inprovement.

@@christopherruzbasan2476 Hi Chris. My solution was a gunsmith to remedy this - not sure if they cut and replaced the guide rod, or forcefully manipulate it back into place. I am very cautious when cleaning and assembling it now. Love the gun though.
