The Luck is not just enhanced skill and prowess, it's literally muscle memory from former "attempts" he's made to stop the Flood. I'd assume the force-multiplying aspects of his Mjolnir armor didn't depend on the neural interface. The armor/exoskeleton can sustain 6's weight easily without the neural aspect. Something else to consider with Chief making hand-holds in the Dawn's hanger; when he hit In Amber Clad's in Halo 2, it's implied he dented but didn't puncture the hull with his velocity and impact. If the hanger's floor is made of the same material as the hull, which to be fair it might not be, that would make his punches possibly stronger than his body impacting at over 100 meters per second. Or at least it might be a more focused amount of energy over a smaller object impacting, a fist vs a body etc.

Chief giving the Covenant back their Bomb was the greatest in my mind. Seriously though, how do Spartans survive the fall from space?! I get it, it's the Suit and it's many layers of protection but, I don't think they should have gave that a go. Even though the only two people to have done it and survived(That I know of in lore), are the two hyper-lethal Spartans ever! Also, does anyone know why Chief made the decision to jump from the Anodyne Spirit? Damn...that shot shot at the end of Halo 3. Chief and Cortona rising at the same time, as Chief rises it blocks the explosion coming from the Arc. Beautiful

UNSC hull armour is entirely different to the floor of a cargo bay, watch one of the most detailed ship breakdowns, I'm not sure without the maths if it has enough force mitagation capability to take a hit from a spartan at that speed if said spartan intends to break it, but if they don't I see no reason why it shouldn't be possible.
@AdamKafei2 жыл бұрын
@Raheem Stephens Anything is possible, we know brutes favour kinetic weapons (especially their fists) and are prone to conflict with eachother, seems reasonable they would design armour to protect against kinetic energy, the question then I suppose is: "How does a spartan's punch compare to a brute's?" Afterall there's no point in trading mobility for armour that can't do the job it's designed to.

Tearing a tendon doesn't hurt at all by the way, you can't feel it. Your leg just gives out completely from the weight of your body, thus it can easy break your leg and ankle as you unexpectedly fall and that would hurt

The armor automatically takes over all movement for him in that leg. Therefore the armor is moving not his leg. It doesn't make sense but that's what happens.

Chief full on tanks the 1st gravity hammer swing from Atriox in the opening Cutscene of Infinite. Often there are "blink and you'll miss it moments" in the cutscenes of the games. Like in Halo 5 he's able to rip Locke's Battle Rifle (which are mostly titanium construction like other unsc guns) Out of his hands and break it over his helmet faster than he could react. If you look closely, chief winds up slowly on nearly all of his attacks, likely in a deliberate choice to try and not intentionally hurt him, an extremely valuable Unsc Asset in his eyes. He already laments the unintentional loss of those odst's he killed. And even when locke hit him seemingly as hard as he could, it only cracked the outermost layer of his visor, and really just pissed him off even more than before.... wow i kinda rambled a bit there.
@amdkillaplays2 жыл бұрын
Chief sees all Spartans as family, even the Spartan IVs. He was absolutely using the minimum force required to prevent Locke from using the armour lock, without hurting him. Curious that Locke thought his pistol would be able to penetrate Chief's helmet. Maybe with the crack he managed to put in it would have weakened it enough
@maddogs19892 жыл бұрын
There is nothing in lore that states that firearms are made out of Titanium. First this is actually pretty fucking stupid as Titanium has a far lower steering point then steel. In fact this is the reason why it's not used alot as armor. It's hard to form. The harder material tends to shatter from impacts fast when stretched and tends to Crack faster than steel from blows. How do I know this? I joust and sword fight and have armor made out of Titanium and know its limits and what it's good at as well as how it handles stress. Essentially Titanium is good until it isn't. Meaning unlike steel it will resist stress and hold up fine with out noticeable damage until it shatters. Steel holds up far better over a longer period of time. Now the likely hood of reaching this point is slim it's hard to tell. This is why in buhurt fighting Titanium armor is not allowed.

@@maddogs1989 I Can't really express an opinion on the usefulness of modern day Titanium Alloy's in weapons and Armor as i don't have that kind of mechanical knowledge, but Almost All Weapons of the UNSC Arsenal, the MA5 Series of Assault Rifles as example, are constructed out of Titanium-A, the Same Titanium that is used as warship construction of Titanium-50 that has been Moleculerly Strengthened.

@maddogs19892 жыл бұрын
@@QGarrison Actually Fred is very well known in the lore to question himself and not make quick decisions when Snags in the plan happen. This is also because Fred is not confident in his abilities and doesn't want to be the center of attention. Conversely John is very, very competitive. These two are good at tactics. Still doesn't help them trying to touch Kelly let alone beat her in a fight. John himself states he only can when she let's him. If you are trying to imply that Kelly can't make quick decisions or something along that line you're also dead wrong. John excels at being a good leader and taking responsibility for his team. When compared to other Spartans he is very very middle of the road in his abilities. Strength, speed, and skill. He knows how to effectively apply others skills and he's well rounded to the point he doesn't have negative traits.

I have the impression that the Spartan armours should be bigger, that they need servo motors and pistons to operate but not to be seen anywhere. Do they carry a portable nuclear plant? Do they need to eat? Do they need to take a shit? Or even an oxygen tank? If not I don't think augmentations alone can make a human lift half a ton and dance like a bailarina.
@zatoby67052 жыл бұрын
Spartan armor is quite literally space magic by our understanding of science. They are powered by compact fusion reactors the size of an ipad tablet and the augmentation system is a type of liquid muscle fiber that basically has no upper limit on how much it can augment their strength since it multiplies all the exertions of the user. Spartans are cathederized and the suit recycles all their waste products.

Yeah, I agree #1 has to be the bomb, which for one thing is ironic given it was created solely to hide a cut level. (Which I'd still love to see recreated, as AFAIK, we never got a true sequel to Truth and Reconciliation.) For another though, I don't think he totally figured it out ahead of time. It seems pretty obvious to me that Hood maneuvered assets to cover and assist Chief. It's arguable that the target vessel didn't even have it's shields up in what is quite possibly a show of utter arrogance as we never see shield flaring. While initially covering Chief, the cruiser's aftwards thrusters subtly alter his trajectory. With this data taken into account, a flight of longswords are vectored to an apparent weakpoint in the hull that is now in the direct path of Chief's trajectory. After jumping clear, he is possibly propelled slightly by the blast of the bomb. Gathering telemetry of Chief, In Amber Clad is vectored to be in his path. It seems to me like Chief performed an act of blind faith in trusting the rest of the UNSC present to have his back fully to insure that the task was performed successfully. Also, aside, the bomb had 7 seconds left on it's timer, at least in the original cutscene. I think IIRC off the top of my head, the Blur version has 9 seconds?

I'll just copy and paste someone else's comment regard Chief above Earth: """ I love the implication of the whole "give back their bomb" scene is that someone got a flight path worked up for the chief to know where he was going to be at roughly what time, pulled 2 longswords from the orbital battle with nothing more than the orders of "clear a path," they do that, and THEN inform Commander Keyes to move In Amber Clad into roughly this position at roughly this time with just the message "Catch him." """" And another person who raised a good point about how Cortana likely would have coordinated the entire thing, from estimating the most probably location of the carrier's path, pulling the longsword for a bombing run, telling In Amber Clad where to go.
