I’ve got one of those live rear view mirrors in my 2021 Silverado and I love it. Never have to worry about your view being locked by chairs, people, tint. And it’s a nice wide angle !

Although not a look I’d want on my personal truck I’ve always appreciated this look. I’m just more of a tire to wheel guy personally. I’m in Delaware and might look that dent guy up. My 22 rst silverado came from the lot with a small dent and since I didn’t see it at the time of purchase they basically blew me off about it. I’m loving that high country tho

I have the rear view mirror in my 2021 I’ve replaced the camera 3x 4th time i used waterproof silicone to prevent condensation in the camera lens 5 months later no issues

Hey Matt, been a subscriber for a while and enjoying the content. Some mods I'd like to see done are: Side mirror puddle lights, grille integrated lightbars, led fog lights, metal bumpers, rock sliders, and fender flares. Maybe even some power upgrades and exhaust too. Can't wait to see what you have planned!

Nice retrofit! Personally I always turn these digital rear view mirrors off if I ever drive a car with one. Every time you look at it, your eyes have to readjust to look at something up close whereas with the traditional mirror your eyes are already adjusted to look far away

I want to do the camera mirror in my Ram. My sport didn’t come with the camera mirror but I’m worried about the brake light leaking. I took a brake light out of one of my older Rams and put it back in. It leaked over time and ruined my headliner. I don’t wanna ruin the headliner in a new truck.

I have the refresh at4 without the camera package so I’m not sure if I would have to run that wire all the way to the mirror…im not too sure how it would work if I were to try and pull the camera view on the screen 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’d imagine pretty easy. You can direct swap the mirror and brake light with the camera already in it. Probably just need to run the 1 wire above the headliner.

Hello. Thank you for sharing your DIY. One question- Why’d you choose the Silverado over a Ram? I’ve been looking into getting a truck and I have been leaning towards the Ram mainly for its ride. The Silverado has a jarring ride quality. What was it for the Silverado that did it for you? Was it the Looks?

I've always been a Chevy guy. The GM trucks usually ride better than Ram and Ford because of IFS. My second choice would be a Cummins though.

Independent front suspension? Isn’t that the case for ram as well? In fact Ram had rear coil spring suspension (can option air suspension too) but Silverados and F-150s have live axle leaf spring.

Yea IFS. Ram and Ford HD trucks had solid axles in the front.

Have you had any issues with the mirror getting hot and shutting off? Did this same upgrade but after a couple hours of driving mine got super hot and started malfunction. TIA and love the content

Got the mirror in an everything works great! I have one more question. I can adjust all the settings on the mirror like zoom and view. But when I go to adjust the brightness, it doesn’t change. Could it be a bad mirror or missing wires?

@@spyc8903 Super easy! Just wired one power that was missing to the fuse box on the drivers side. The ground already shares the same location so you just need power
