I bought a 2000 Wrangler 2 years ago. And i live in the mid-Atlantic area. That being said, even though i inspected it pretty well, the combination of my inexperience and where i live allowed some rust that i missed while inspecting to appear. drivers side rear control arm area, and passenger side front control arm area. I dropped the fuel tank and went to work on the rear control arm frame repair. Cut off all of the pieces and cleaned out as much crap from the inside of the frame as i could. Had to drill out and re-tap all the upper shock mount locations. Once i had the frame and repair piece prepped, i had a friend who is a welder, install the piece. I decided at that time to do a lift as well. Since it's not my daily, but a toy, i didn't mind spending the time on my back in the garage working on the various things. As a matter of fact, it feels good to continue to work on, maintain, and preserve the last of the "Jeeps".

I literally just got done doing my TJ in my driveway... took me two weeks pecking away at it. :) lol spring perch to spring perch plus replaced the rear spring spring perches top and bottom. Not fun.. not easy.. but so worth it. Just remember to watch your body lines and body and frame gaps! Love these videos.

Put new rough country shocks on my 98 tj and went with the t bar eliminator kit. Pain in the ass but didn’t have to drop the tank.

Question: When doing a lift kit, how much lift will require a slip yoke eliminator on the transfer case? Your videos are the best on KZbin for TJ owners. Thanks for the great education!

I think in this particular case, a spring compressor would be safer to use rather than using a bottle jack. IDK, seems kinda sketchy.

I am not using the jack to compress the spring, which is the dangerous part. A compressed spring has way more stored energy than a drooped suspension.

do you recommend a transfer case drop kit after this 2.5" lift is installed? or perhaps a motor mount lift to compensate for the drive shaft angle?
