Thanks for the video. I was looking for what to take those screws out with, T45 torx. My instructions stated to torque the bolts to 25 -35 ft lbs. Nice job. btw My bike is dirty too.

Thank you for the simple explanation. Very informative. Do you remember the length for the bottom bolts and the thread is the same 3/8-16?
@PABeardedBiker4 жыл бұрын
DDias86 sorry it took me a while to get back to you. I went out and looked at my bike. The length should be 3/4” - 1”. I believe it was 3/8-16 but can’t confirm. Thanks for watching and be safe out there.

Great job! How long should it take a competent mechanic to install an engine guard on a Harley Iron? Many thanks!
@PABeardedBiker4 жыл бұрын
Jibiki thank you for subbing me and for the comment. It should only take about 10-15 minutes. I had to run to the store to get different bolts so it took me a little longer. It’s an easy install. You should have any problems. If you do let me know. 👍

Thanks PABB! I'm not very mechanically inclined, but think I might be able to do this myself?! Of course if would help if I had decent tools! Thanks again, and keep up the great work!

Hi PABB, newbie rider here. If you don't mind me asking, how long should it take a competent mechanic to change a front and rear tire on a Harley Iron? Also, the installation of a Daymaker (or equivalent) LED headlight? Thanks again:)
@PABeardedBiker4 жыл бұрын
Jibiki if you have a motorcycle lift taking off the front and rear wheels should take about a half hour or so. The tires take a while if you’re using “spoons”. I take mine to to the dealership. They have all the tools to take the tires off and put the new ones on. The headlight would take about 15 minutes to a half hour if the LED headlight has the right adapter to fit the stock headlight plug. I have read instances that some aftermarket LED headlights require you to replace the headlight bucket because of all the plugs and adapters to go from incandescent light to LED. You’ll have to do some research. I think the “Harley” brand LED is a plug and play but they are pretty spendy. Hope this helps. PABB

Thanks PABB. Appreciate your keen insight and advise. I lined up a reputable indie shop in my in my area (outside NYC) to change front an rear tires. At $95 per hour, how many hours should it take to do the entire job? Stay safe and well:)
@PABeardedBiker4 жыл бұрын
Jibiki no problem. If they are taking off both wheels and replacing the tires probably an hour or hour and half depends. That about how long my Harley dealer would take. 👍

@PABeardedBiker5 жыл бұрын
nasomaz I know mine were pretty tight too. Definitely use something like WD-40 or PB Blaster. If you using a small ratchet you want to put a piece of pipe on the handle to get more leverage. Just be careful you strip the bolt end. Thanks for watching. Good luck. Let me know how you make out. 👍
@nasomaz5 жыл бұрын
@@PABeardedBiker Yes I am worried I started to strip the bolt. Will give WD-40 a shot today. Thanks for the advice
@PABeardedBiker5 жыл бұрын
nasomaz I’m hesitant to say it but as a last resort if you can get some heat to it with a small propane or butane torch that will help too. Just be very careful not to ignite the lubricant or the bike on fire. Keep a fire extinguisher handy just in case. I would only do that as a last ditch effort. Good luck man. Let me know how you make out. 👍
