I’m glad it helped you. I keep the O-ring lubricated with a lubricant I bought on Amazon and haven’t had any problems. I love it.

Put one of these in my Triton 6yrs ago…one of the best mods on my boat…just a heads up…you might want to check the 2 screws on the back of the switch occasionally…they can come out…I put a drop of blue thread lock mine…haven’t had any issues since…nice job!!!

Does this kit have a standard cable length or are there different lengths you can order?

Mine came with a 6 ft. And can be used on the transom. You can choose one with a cable long enough to reach the console, I think it is 12 ft. long.

Has it ever leaked since you have used it?

No, mines never leaked and slides in and out easily. I bought some of that silicon lubricant for the O-ring off Amazon. It was cheap and supposed to keep that O-ring in good shape. After I get home I place it in the closed position to keep dirt or anything out of it
