Installing a Handheld Showerhead | Moen Guided Installation

My product came with no instructions enclosed. The video said to refer to the instructions so you'd know what tools you needed and whether to use the white tape. I just needed the adjustable wrench and figured the tape couldn't hurt. I muddled through it and was successful, but it would be helpful if the Moen site made a pdf of the instructions available.

This shower head was easy to install within a few minutes, and looks great! I've been using a cheap-o plastic shower head with no adjustable functions, and this is an excellent upgrade. I really like that this showerhead is brushed nickel rather than chrome coated plastic, and the head is sturdy and solid. I love all of the different settings, and the massage ones are excellent for getting clay masks out of my long hair quickly! I'm definitely going to be glad for this showerhead when I henna my hair again- that stuff is so hard to wash out with low pressure. I also like how flexible this hose is compared to the cheap plastic one I had- it's much easier to move the hose around, and keep the hose out of the way. This showerhead is well built, and seems like it can hold up to a lot of use in my shower. It even comes with a hair catcher (I needed one of those) and some thread tape. I love this showerhead, and it's a great deal for the price! Installed this exact type of shower head. And wasn't sure if I had tightened it enough since I could still see thread, but the video shows the same. I have no leaks so I assume it's okay.

Hello. The true test of a successful handshower installation is that it functions without leaking. As mentioned in the video, all of the connections were to be hand-tightened and depending on the model being installed, may have a washer installed at the shower arm and hose connections. Please remember to review the installation instructions for the model you purchased.

Doesn't show you how to adjust or pivot the part of the handshower bracket that holds the shower head if it doesn't align vertically after you screw it on. After I screwed it on tightly it was upside down; after 30 minutes of trying to figure out how to adjust the bracket I had to find another YT DIY video to see how to adjust/pivot the bracket so that it is vertically aligned.🙁

The EOS showerhead looks and feels great. But I am disappointed with the showering experience. The flow is so slow, sometimes I have to check to see if any water is flowing at all. The force of the head I replaced was great; gave me the clean feel after the shower.

Is this the same procedure for a roman tub handheld sprayer? My Moen handheld fell apart at the sprayer where the spray selector lever is located. Is there a replacement sprayer head?

Hello Moho62. The handheld shower head for a roman tub faucet is replaceable and the procedure is similar. The handheld shower head unscrews counter clockwise from the hose, but thread seal tape is not used. Hello Hermititis. Your inherited Moen Adler 8-function handshower should have a screen washer/o-ring located in the hose connection, where it threads onto the handshower. The first thing you should check is to make sure that this screen washer is not clogged with debris or damaged; as both of these issues would cause the connection to leak.

Is the bracket supposed to untighten by the ball joint? Mine seems as though it does not move and is for show or does it untighten?

I cannot get the Moen magnetix Engage 26100Ep to stop leaking at the wall pipe. i am using thread tape and all. handtighten. if i tighten too much the gasket inside there disfigures

I have a rain shower head (Moen) with a handheld attachment in the center of the rain head. I cannot, for the life of me, get water to flow from the handheld. There is a little switch on it and I have turned that switch both ways and still no water. Can someone describe how to do this for me? I love the whole shower head and the rain shower is great, but I would love to be able to use the handheld component. Thanks.

The switch is the diverter and with each turn the water should divert to the rain shower, hand held and turning again both the rain head and hand held shower should be running water. What gives with the leaks at the wall connection. Wasn't leaking with the old one or a tester one. Tried handheld no tape. Then tape. Then more tape. Then tape and a wrench. Now it's leaking and I broke the plastic inside. Ugh. Gave up. Living with leak. Now what do I do with the weird clear tabs(?) Can't figure out their purpose and if I am supposed to cut them off. Nothing in the instructions. Not on display part. Not in any video. WTF. Does this mean if I leave them my showerhead will fall at one point and shatter? Or are they meant to be there and not in the display at Home Depot. Ridiculous.

There is no way to syncronize/align the mount should it not happen to be in the 12-6 o clock position. Or at least there was no mention of it

Hello JonTanOsb. Moen handshowers that come with our "Pause/Trickle" feature allow the user to temporarily slow the water flow to a trickle. The "Pause/Trickle" function is not a water shut off. You would need to continue using the "on/off" handle for the shower to actually shut off the water flow.
