The HUDLY is kinda UGLY. A cleaner option is to just install a premium gauge cluster that will display all of those same parameters.

Yup. Or just get a Bluetooth ODB2 adapter and Torque Pro. Works much better and much faster response.

Exactly what I was thinking. It's not a clean install at all. Was thinking it'd sit on the dash in front of the driver and be mainly out of sight

It's not really laggy because of the device itself, it's the way OBD2 sends data.

Just so you know, with a new ABS module and some programming the upgraded gauge cluster is a pretty simple swap.

That's way too much to go through. Get a $20 Bluetooth OBD2 reader, get the Torque Pro app, get a HUD plate that you put your phone on and the Torque Pro app has a HUD mode.

Everybody's complaining about how laggy it is but it's honestly totally fine. This isn't for a race car, obviously this is a cruising gadget for going cross country. I'm just curious why you mounted it where you did? Usually a hud is directly infront of the driver.

that thing looks like complete garbage. tbh, anything that goes through OBDII is going to be too slow to do anything. OBDII does not have the bandwidth to display a tach fast enough to be usable.

I do kinda agree with what a lot of people are saying, it didn't look that good. Me personally, plan oo just getting a RacePak dash. Not cheap but it is much prettier than my dash. HUDs are cool and all but it is not hard to glance at a gauge and I think with the position he has his in it, you still have to take your eyes off what is in front of you.

Your power steering pump is making that much noise because there's hundreds of tiny air bubbles in the fluid. It's called cavitation, basic hydraulic issue. Just bleed it and put new fluid in it and call it a day, plus you get to enjoy a silent pump again !

David your power steering pump is loud because it's a ford. I don't think they are ever quiet especially on the trucks.

I have a 97 3.8l mustang after I've driven the car for about 15 minutes or so and then car gets warmed up. When I stop at red lights or stop signs and the car sets at idle and drops below 1000 rpm the oil pressure goes crazy and the car sometimes cuts off or sometimes comes very close. I've changed a number of parts and can't find the issue. Any ideas?

There are a lot cleaner systems for around 50$. They make some that only plug in one place then sit on your dash and they’re only about half an inch thick so you can’t see it

It's called "Head-Up Display" not heads-up. I hate when "car enthusiasts" don't even know this. The reason it was designed in aircraft was to keep the pilot's head UP. Cars adopted it about 20 years ago, and carried over the name head-up.

Only problem is that it’s too bulky for me. I’d rather have one of the HUD’s that sit inside the dash and don’t need a second sheet of glass to project onto. I like simplicity and clean when it comes to my interior, a bunch of stuff on my dash/windshield annoys me easily. It’s cool nonetheless, just too bulky.

That's a huge obstruction to deal with on the windshield. I'm running a dash cam and radar detector and they take up less space than that thing. Thanks for the video though!
