Installing a Ko-jack Jacking point onto the Eriba Feeling caravan

Well done, I also fitted the Kojak, The Alko Jacking point would not fit on our caravan with the twin Motor Mover fitted and the Kojak worked a treat.

Well done on the fitting. I took the easy way out and bought a trolley jack. Comes in handy for use on my car too. I really should take a second look at these. Ian...

Cheers Ian, I couldn’t face lugging a trolley jack around so this seemed a good enough solution. Should have been an easy fit but as our chassis is lower than normal was quite annoying, mind you pretty sure when Dan and Tom T fitted theirs there was quite a lot of swearing too even with a normal height chassis!

Well done you 👍. I fitted the bailey version to our swift so much easier than under the axel on a wet verge somewhere. Also the underslung spare carrier is in the garage, rubbish design.

Yep Alko spare wheel carrier not fit for purpose. Spare wheel under fixed bed behind axle.

Cheers, bit of a faff to fit, would have been much easier if I’d jacked the whole van up first to make more room underneath but as you say hopefully much less faff if we need it on a verge somewhere :)

Would Alko jacking brackets fit onto my 320 chassis ? i have a Reich Mover behind the wheels..

I doubt it very much. I’ve never crawled under one so an Eriba dealership would have to say for sure (and advise on alternatives) but the chassis on Eriba Tourings aren’t made by Alko, they’re bespoke so I believe totally different to the Alko chassis under my Eriba Feeling

Thanks for the comment and delighted to “meet you”, always wonderful to know there’s someone watching, it’s the oddest thing randomly talking to a camera from this side! So comments and feedback v much appreciated. Not at all a stupid question, one very much on my mind as I bought then fitted it, though I didn’t mention in the video as us Feeling owners are pretty rare. I’m also not convinced it would actually go under if the tyre was totally flat (you can wind the jockey wheel down to get the rear chassis to go up but attached to the tow vehicle thus reasonable level would be far far safer), the newer Feelings are on Alko chassis so are a tiny bit higher than when they were on BPW chassis in the 2010s (I believe) but still as you say v low (excellent to tow). However, this is far safer than a car scissor jack so my plan A (if I ever get a flat and need to sort myself rather than summoning my breakdown service, been v lucky so far, no incidents) is to pull the caravan forward onto my Lock and Level, levelling device then inflate that with the tyre pump which will hopefully bring the chassis up enough to get this solid jack under enough. Or plan B use the car scissor jack (which I carry anyway and as I tow with a T6 is beefy) to lift it a bit then get this safer ko jack version in. Not ideal but at the time of recording no other versions seemed to be available. Nowadays I think there might be a newer v short scissor jack version available which would suit the Feeling much better and I have it on my to do list to investigate once the big caravan shows are back on as I’d prefer to see it in person before changing. Let me know if you come across a better one? The thing I really like is the receiver socket for the jack which makes it much safer to use and you know you’re jacking in an approved point so that’s my top tip in what to look out for. Also be aware that if you fit a mover it may have to go behind the road wheel because of the lowness of the chassis, thus covering these mounting holes anyway...

Yep, it's v low under there, bit of a pain for attaching the waste sometimes and I have to be careful going up and down drop kerbs/ferry ramps but on the plus side it tows impeccably (triple A, self adjusting brakes too which are v smooth & responsive). Quite a few things fitted/carried that I hope never to have to use but worth it for peace of mind and an easier life if they are ever needed. Thanks for watching :)
