Dino is like the Bob Ross of DR650 content. I love it! Some things that might work on glue residue is wd40, goo gone, orange clean, heat or isopropyl alcohol. Should be safe on plastic as well.

Man, you have lost some weight, that is great. My Dr 650 I bought the Seat Concepts and really like it. I really like your videos and you do an excellent job explaining everything you are doing which make it very easy to follow.

I think you'll luv that seat. Having the dished contour that matches the contour of your posterior makes all the difference.

Looks like you got a deal. I purchased the DIY low pro seat kit from Seat Concepts , which is basically the same thing as this, but only more expensive. And my job came out about like yours too, and I wasn’t 100% satisfied with my own work, but really, I’m the only one that notices the flaws. The memory type foam and the extra width is definitely a huge factor when it comes to comfort. Nice find.

Sorry we're so late to the party, we we're very busy renovating our own Tinkershed!😅 But man what an intro, youve really got those squirrels on your hand😃, and we recognised a really beautiful red DR in the photo montage!😁 Luuk is pretty jealous of your big acetone bottle because we can only buy really small ones due to regulations in the Netherlands. (Luuk uses it to clean before welding) Really nice Broll edit with the music on the final reveal! Very curious how you like the seat, have you ridden it the last few weeks? The DR seat is a bit like a builder's plank to sit on after a bit of riding! I think you did a good job of fitting the cover and seat. Working at pulling and stretching seating material is hard work (a third hand would have helped I suspect). The cost is very reasonable and the extra seat width will make longer rides more enjoyable. Good clear video as usual Dino. Thankyou. (I made a simple lambs wool cover for the seat on my DR - it helps a lot but the extra seat width you now have should make for more comfortable riding.)

I like it a lot for a budget option and for those who like to do things in their shop. Hard to beat anything for that price. Personally, I'd take a seat over to an upholstery and have them do the same shape as Seat Concepts, throw a Cordura 1000D cover on it and call it a day. SC, Sargent, great options but super expensive as well.

Great work Dino. Motorcycle Seat upholstery. My least favourite job. 2 things that would have helped greatly. Heat gun: - the fabric will stretch much more than you got it to. Rubber gloves:- you mentioned the grip strength you needed to do the job. . Most of that strength was required to eliminate the fabric slipping in your hands. Wear some non slip workshop gloves and that will make stretching the fabric way way way easier and the job much less frustrating. .

Great tips for sure. I did use a hair drier along off camera. The instruction stressed not to use a head gun so I did not want to include that footage in case I received questions about why I did not follow the instructions lol. Thanks again for the information. Dino

Looks better than the old one but maybe buying it on the seat pan already is the way to go. Upholstery isn't an everyday skill or as easy as people think, so if someone does a hundred a day for years, he's going to be good at it.

Nice looking seat Dino. Do you think if you let the cover sit in the sun for a bit, that would have helped? P.S. When I've recovered motorcycle seats in the past, I get my wife to operate the staple-gun while I pull the material. Having two hands stretch the material into place while someone else staples, makes it easier.
