Just a quick design consideration, as im sure you are aware 3d prints are super weak along the layer lines. One way you can alleviate that is by having a long (doesnt need to be super strong) bolt perpendicular to the layers, essentially sandwiching all the kayers together. This may not be feasible for the whole print, but if you have a small tab or something that keeps breaking along the layer lines , just put a bolt through it!

I did my valves and they are much nosier than before, so I did them again and rechecked my process, including TDC, and they are still noisy. I'm thinking I might need the offset feeler gauges as i think my straight ones might be putting a slight angle on the measurement, especially the exhaust side.

Creality Ender 3 is garbage, made me not want to print ever. Went to Bambu and now i love it.
@Jtw091221 сағат бұрын
I wouldn't call them garbage, for the time they originally came out they were great. Bambu just came in and made a massive splash by selling printers that "just work." Compared to a lot of printers at the time the ender basically was a Bambu printer, and I'm sure in another 5-10 years someone else will come out with something and we'll thing the bambu printers are garbage. But ya, until Bambu came out you were basically buying yourself into the hobby if fixing 3d printers, and now you can just use them as a tool that just works

Great job! My dad and I have both recently started in 3d printing and modeling. With a full career in production casting, the transition to rapid prototyping has been so great. Keep at it, these steps used to take weeks or months and many thousands of dollars of drafting and modeling. If you’re ever on section 4 of the Washington state BDR, let me know, we would love to have you at the house for a warm meal and a cold beverage.

Instead of ABS try it's bigger brother ASA, I believe it's basically identical as far as strength goes but it is also UV stable. I also feel like it is a little bit easier to print with than ABS and seems to shrink a little bit less but I have never compared them side by side. Also, speaking of shrinkage once you get everything fitting right with PLA which has very little shrinkage, you'll notice all the sudden that ABS / ASA prints will not fit the same. Try to avoid adjusting it in the model itself and make the adjustments within your slicer. Can't wait to see what you come up with, if you're looking for any more resources if you haven't already found him makers Muse has some really good videos for 3D printing

@@DinosTinkerShed I haven't used any CAD programs since I retired 4 and a half years ago and was only a rudimentary user. I don't know what is the best at this point. @@DinosTinkerShedI use fusion 360, but only because they used to have a proper "makers" edition that you could still run all the sims and fancy stuff. Now while it still exists, it's all in the cloud and you have juggle this stupid "you can only have 10 projects editable at a time" limitation. I believe it was makers muse who has a pretty good, fairly recent video on the current options.

Another excellent video. I greatly enjoy your DR650 content. Im an old retired guy here in Myrtle beach , SC that bought the new black 24 DR in the spring. I call him my "hatefull heathon". I love this bike and yesterday I installed the 22" Madstad windshield. Ive also installed the Seat Concepts, lowering pegs and Tusk shifter. I also drilled out the air/fuel brass plug and installed the adjustable screw. The factory setting was only a quarter turn out and it ran horribly. Its now aprox 2 turns out and starts and runs beautiful, (no other carb adjustments). 3600 miles on him now. Always looking forward to your next one. Oh yeah, I admire your weight loss.

Just a little bit of advice for those cheap printers, they work fine but only if you also want to add working on 3D printers to your hobbies. If all you're trying to do is add a 3D printer to your tool box it's worth spending a bit more. As someone who's had both you can get one of those cheap printers too "just work" eventually with a lot of tweaking but if you don't want to spend the time to do that it's worth spending the extra money.

Love your videos Dino. You have an excellent attitude and the repair is absolutely the best and would be as good as new if not stronger I reakon. We all make mistakes. I am 46 and make them still as adult. This video rings true to me as I was 14 years old I had a 1984 Yamaha YZ80L mx bike which was my pride and joy. I used to do aircleaner every ride and run the best full syn premix oil at 25:1 as it was back in the day. Changed the gear box oil regularly, one day I had a lapse of judgment and bloody cross threaded the dam thing(gear box oil drain while reinstalling). I still remember that sinking feeling as I felt it was threading tight all the way in. Pulled it back it and it was toast. Went with helicoil and flushed the shit out if with gear box oil to get any crap out. Worked perfect and never had a problem with it. You are very methodical and I am too. Bike shops make mistakes worst, you just don't hear about it as a customer 😂
