Water piking! Genius, those zen reef frag racks are the best, I had one for over a year, the magnet started to rust inside the incapculated piece that goes in the tank, I couldn’t feel it but I could see it, I emailed them, they sent me a brand new one, one year later, now that’s customer service!

Thanks for the great video. I love the idea of the solid base on the skimmer to keep it quiet. Nice to see some innovation time to time.

It's fun seeing someone else do your work, and also seeing the different ways people approach coral fragging
@Boogerdick692 жыл бұрын
A Duncan was my legit first coral, I bought 2 single polyp piece. Each have 6 polyps now, about 3-4 polyps on each frag us big like a regular sized polyp and are starting to branch. Been by far my hardiest coral, never ever had an issue. A coral I’ve had issue with sooner or later are frogspawns.. I still have my og hammers and torches by frogspawn? Just lost 8 polyps last night on a colony I’ve had for over a year

@@ReefBuildersVideo hey nothing wrong with that. You're an adult, it's legal, and to be honest going from what you thought would be a relatively easy chop job to a much more involved clean up deserves it :D

Nice work. Wonder if you could give a bit more info on the magnet base you plan to mount the frags to? Are you just gluing them to a magnet like you would a frag plug?

Do you think a waterpik would work for dislodging green hair algae
@ReefBuildersVideo4 жыл бұрын
It might but the efficacy would really depend on how hard the algae is attached to the rock

I know this is probably a dumb question, but why do you still need to do frequent water changes if you put all this money into skimmers/reactors/ dosers/ auto top off equipment. I wish it was self sustaining at that overall price point.
@ReefBuildersVideo4 жыл бұрын
I actually don't do that many water changes, mainly I focus siphoning out detritus, but it's also not that hard to regularly change water if it's required.

Sorry to bother you I have a mini colony of Duncan’s in my tank that all of a sudden haven’t started coming out I’ve checked parameters and we checked good water changes done all my other corals are blooming but the Duncan is unhappy and I noticed that a zoa has been chewed on could this be the work of my coral banded shrimp please advise thank you
@mattcarpenter41224 жыл бұрын
Andy I’ve had a CBS for over 2 years and I’ve never seen it nip at my soft corals. They will sometimes search for food on top but in my experience haven’t hurt my corals. Usually other things have cost me like water parameters or flow etc. just got rid of a 2-barred rabbit fish which was destroying zoas
@ReefBuildersVideo4 жыл бұрын

Just get an emperor or a majestic and and they would go to town on your sponge with no cuts...... BUT i guess thats not a cool video lol
@ReefBuildersVideo4 жыл бұрын
they would eat sponge very well but might nip at some corals too, but there's also no way they could reach the inner recesses of rocks or large, dense branching corals.
