The steel winch cable is way too long for plowing. You are letting the winch cable out and in only a foot or so each time while plowing and this can cause the cable to get bunched up on the winch spool.

Throw the cable away and get a billet aluminum fairlead. I plow with my KFI and this the ticket. The rope works just as good for everything else too.

Anytime you go from steel to synthetic you should emery cloth the drum to remove and burrs that may be on there and wear against the synthetic. You should also use a hause fairlead for synthetic.

Good idea. These machines are fun to plow with. I'm happy I bought a plow for mine. Looks like the snow n rain is on the way.

A boat which strap works really well and are only about 15 to 20 bucks they work great. Just cut it to 6 ft or so and take off old which line off the drum and stick a piece of duck tape to the boat strap then to the winch drum and spool it up. It will never break from the plowing. Best idea good luck.

Thanks for the video, it’s definitely much easier with the shorter rope. I had the exact same problem with the cable jamming l. I just taped the end of the synthetic cable and it fit in the original hole. I used 6mm. Thanks again, great 💡 idea 😎

I don’t know what the reason is but, I was told by more than one person that if you run those synthetic winch ropes you need to change the farelead to the non roller style. Again, I don’t know for a fact but that’s what I’ve been told.

Why don't you use a strap from a boat which. I tried the rope and it broke. The strap has been on for two winters and no problem. In the spring I remove it and install the cable back on.
