Hey just thought i'd let you know what I got for shocks. On my 91 Suzuki sidekick with the 2" spacer and 2" body lift, it came with shocks for 1985-1994 Pontiac Grand Am. I have a OESprectrum 5896. On the 95 tracker with the 4.5" suspension lift, it uses a shock for a 96-05 toyota rav4 kyb 343272

I have never heard of using the Pontiac ones. How do you like them? I run f150 2wd on my Offroad tracker and cavalier ones on my Overland tracker.

I found it much easier to install the lift with $20.00 coil spring compressor tool from ebay. And rear shock extender bolts also found on ebay for $40.00 bucks. While I had it apart I went ahead fork out the money on new KYB struts and shocks. When it was all said and done I actually achieved three inches of lift for some reason👍

I wish I would have measured the height before I started. Oh well. Maybe on the next one.

I really want to change my rear springs. They are too small now for me. I just can't find which longer springs I can put in the rear. I've been looking for aftermarket companies but I can't find. Here in Costa Rica is difficult to find spare parts for old chevys for example.

Of you want a little taller spring try a 4dr set.

Awesome video! I just picked up my first sidekick. Did you regear to account for the bigger tires?

If you keep the stock rear shocks, are you simply limiting your articulation, or will it cause more issues than that? I've got a 2" spacer lift but the top of the rear springs will occasionally come unseated from the spacer. I've been considering going back to a stock length shock to prevent the axle from moving enough to allow this (and also, the stock damping is probably more comfortable than the shocks I have on there now).

My understanding is that the stock shocks will limit travel and there is a risk of overextending them and that will cause them to go bad. I have heard of people adding limit straps in order to keep springs in. On one of mine I went to a taller 4dr spring and that fixed the issue.

Trash panda is correct, you will lose three inches in travel in the rear which is everything when off roading.... the more travel, the more rubber you will keep on the ground which equals better traction. You can buy heavy duty rear shock bolt extenders on ebay for forty five US dollars. That way you can run the required shock's on your truck.
