As a new homeowner It's so nice to watch your work process and be able to listen to how your thought process works as a professional plumber . It's very helpful when trying to think like a plumber when doing projects around the house. Keep up the good work broski!
@karlrossiter-pt6fh Жыл бұрын
Just leave all the thinking to that plumber, no disrespect but although there are worse things I run into, getting a customer that watched a couple KZbin videos and is now an expert usually gets in the way and makes the job take longer than it should. Now I feel like a dick😅🫶🫶🫶🤷🏻♂️

@@karlrossiter-pt6fh no not at all. 100% get your point. I'm a Master mechanic I have seen people make the situation way worse by trying to fix something themselves, when they have no idea what they're doing
@karlrossiter-pt6fh Жыл бұрын
@@nathangebben5738 not saying at all homeowners shouldn’t research though. A lot of companies will upsell and bleed you dry. And being a mechanic and having to deal with customers must be a bitch sometimes. Fun to see how many crazies are out there though lol def makes me feel less crazy myself sometimes. While I was replacing a cartridge on a shower valve last Friday, customer locked himself in the bathroom with me and just stood in front of the door watching me… and this was one of those bathrooms where there is the door to get In and there’s the sink and then there’s another door further in with the toilet and shower. Not sure what that’s called. Anyways he locked the door in this small ass room just being creepy so I finally told him that he was getting in my way and politely asked him to wait downstairs. lol doesn’t have anything to do with this video or your comment

I applaud you for sweating that connection! So many plumbers, HVAC technicians today don't know how to use flux, solder and a torch they only use pro press that I believe will eventually fail and leak when the little O Ring deteriorates. , I had a company in my home servicing my boiler they refused to solder the new fittings, when I asked why? They said they didn't know how to solder??? 😮😮

@@OldsmobileCutlass1969Va ב''ה, think I saw these around when they first came out; it's a fancy-looking humidifier and probably would be particularly appreciated in the southwest.. but if y'all got steam taking it to 90 in the winter or A/C without some central humidifier I could see it being appreciated in the city. Does this particular one have a heat blower? Some of these things are gonna have a standard 1000-1500w ceramic heater and blower in just for feel and convenience, didn't squint enough to see if this does. Spent one New England storm blackout huddled around a propane insert and, despite the real flame, those barely throw heat unless they have extra elements designed for that anyway - took hours to even cook a fiberglass potato in it and hopefully they aren't using loose fiberglass as fake coals anymore.

I like to use my expanding pipe plug, it's 12" long, just insert it through the straight fitting or fill port ballvalve, flip the lever straight and the rubber end expands to plug the pipe for a moisture free sweat job. I'm curious about the rubber Jim cap on the 4" cast fitting behind the water line. Wondering if the original plumbing company forgot to replace it with a permanent cast iron blind plug. Inspectors in Minneapolis would loose their minds if they saw that.😅 3:18
