Also I always avoid using fernco type fittings but when I had to use them I used the stainless steel banded type that you use. It's amazing to me that NYC has all their piping, heavy metal pipes, held together with these fittings. I would have guessed Pvc glued schedule 40 or 80 would be stronger but seeing this I feel better about using those fitting when needed.

Always better to be safe than sorry. Spending alittle extra to prevent damage is important because fixing what gets damaged is usually more expensive. I work for a company that sells machinery. It’s amazing how many high paid idiots are confused how a machine that has never been maintained gets damaged by itself.
