Oh Emerald I laughed so hard when you commented on Mondays. I've been working for 47 years and just retire one or two years ago. Now Mondays are just another day that I can go and do something I want to do. Great video thumbs up kid.

Monday is great! There is a saying I was taught as a child, ""so goes Monday, so goes the week". My mom used to tell me that if you focused on something good that happened on Monday no matter how small it was, mama you would have a great week. If you chose to focus on all the things that are negative about Monday there's about Monday, you're weak was going to go to h*** in a handbasket on a high speed train going downhill. In other words it was going to be a very bad week. So always think I'm a positive even though it is on Monday, it was still a good week

In the air, in your face, .... in your lungs. A simple cloth neck gator thing to wear as a dust mask helps. You won't think there's enough to worry about til you look at the mask and the end of a day where you've been breathing through it and then see the pile of crude that you'd otherwise been breathing. Ya'll shovel enough sawdust from the same spot, to the same spot, that it would seem worthwhile to figure out a better way to handle it. Simple conveyor belt maybe. Even if it was a handle cranked one it'd beat shoveling.

Safe-eyes, invented and originally made about an hour and a half from where I live in NZ, are also a good option for eye protection from sawdust. They are now made in Hong Kong, presumably for worldwide export viability. Blackened metal mesh panels mounted in black rubber. No issues with misting, even in 100% humidity. There is a fine mesh version which I bought for ripping timber on our large and small bench saws but I use the standard mesh version when operating a chainsaw for pruning or firewood cutting; and dismantling/felling trees on our house construction sites. They make you look like ‘The Fly’ BUT eyesight is more important than momentary vanity.

Sawdust can be a nuisance, I work in a lumber mill a few years back and I definitely know how it feels when you get sawdust in your eyes. Not a good feeling. You and the crew keep up the good work. Love your videos and your content. It's a pleasure to watch a family work together and get along so well. It up the good work and keep up with the videos. You need to get MX goggles that vent well to reduce fogging, their designed to keep dirt out, or a wraparound face shield used in conjunction with sunglasses. You don’t have to wear it all the time, just when you need to. You have to protect those Icey wolf eyes of yours Em.
@michaelguerin562 жыл бұрын
I second that. Back in the late 1980s our RNZE plant operators were issued with off-road motorbike goggles whilst working on the Argo Road in the Army Training Group (ATG) area, Waiouru, New Zealand. It gets pretty dry and dusty at 3-4,000 feet of altitude in the back of the training area, especially during the summer. You also get a better view of the wild horses during your lunch break if you are not busily trying to get dust and grit out of your eyes. Goggles that fog up are goggles that will not be protecting your eyes when you need them.

A lot of iron in that water. Just a suggestion to add more equipment.. You should invest in a hay bale conveyer used to send bales into a barn loft. Laid flat with extended walls it could catch the sawdust. You would just have to haul it out to your dump site, turn it on and let it cycle out the sawdust. It'd save the time and hassle of shoveling then dumping. A thought, but looks like it'd be a tight squeeze for your setup.

Your mum is still trying to burn that stump out :O . Putting a 44 gallon (55 US gallon) drum over the stump is the best way that I found to burn them out. Ideally dig a bit of dirt out under the side so that it draws air down low like a rocket stove or a Swedish fire log.

The sawdust... I don't know if this would work or maybe too much trouble/messy to be practical but, I'm wondering if you put a backboard and sideboards on your UTV, if you could use a self powered snow blower to blow the sawdust into the UTV? Leaving the snow blower at the furthest point back, once the sawdust makes a worthy pile... drive/blow it out with the snow blower. Just a thought.. Great videos !!!
