When I installed mine I installed it in the nose toolbox and mounted a 12” exhaust fan in the front side to exhaust the heat. You can’t even see that it has an ac from the outside. It looks a lot better than an AC hanging out of the wall.

Wow you Guys made that look really easy. Nice job hope you get your insulation done easily as well.

It was an easy project, he filled the walls with shredded cardboard and I think he used something to keep bugs out and fire retardant.

You can also use a stand up portable ac unit cut a circle into the floor for the vent i did that for now because i paid alot of money for my trailer and im skeptical about cutting a square into the wall

I have the same idea for mounting

All the videos I have seen show welding some sort of header or frame system around the inside of the hole. I have already pulled the paneling out 2 times so I really like how you didnt over think it, cut the hole and put unit in. My big question is that I will have racks that could be carrying up to 600 pounds on the roof. Do you feel that the L channel plus interior wood around the A/C is enough support after cutting the hole?
@FireDragonStudios2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't worry too much about it. I threw a stack of solar panels just on the front where I mounted the unit to get them out of the way, probably 200lbs (Plus the 160lbs worth I have mounted on it) just on the vnose without any issues. So if you're spreading that weight out I wouldn't overthink it

If I was in your situation I would put a 1 1/2" square tube on each side of the a/c from ceiling to floor and thru bolt, by the way I'm the Dad in the video, I would have answered these comments but I have never seen this until now.

Do all cargo trailers come from the factory UN-insulated like yours?
@MrMudEagleАй бұрын
So you have any problems with it while driving? Or do you remove it while you are moving?
@Travisj99352 жыл бұрын
That holds up going down the road 😱
@FireDragonStudios2 жыл бұрын
It holds up extremely well. I can stand on it without it moving for example.

It has held up very well.

Why would there be an issue?

I feel the same way! I have a side door that I may cut...this Texas heat is no joke.

I would recommend a mini split after doing this one

What size screws did you use to screw into the angle?
@Dave-cx3ok7 ай бұрын
#10 and we just made sure the were short enough not to penetrate through

What are these brackets and where do I find them?

Aluminum angle, you can find it at home depot

Thats a huge gap at the 2 min mark. Did you cover that up somehow? Maybe cut the feet off the AC unit?
@Dave-cx3ok7 ай бұрын
The gap was only about a half an inch or less, the angle installed top and bottom then silicone covered it well.

Did u ever insulated the trailer
@FireDragonStudios3 жыл бұрын
I did actually! I used paper shredding and it worked really well. I don't have any footage I'm aware of just because I was really busy but I think I'll end up making a video atleast showing what and how I did everything
