I've been looking in to using OpenPlotter and all of the software stuff that comes with it, including Node Red, to use it on my own sailboat. The learning curve got too steep for me, though. Interesting to see how you're doing it though, so thanks for showing us!

If you need some help, let us know either on here or via our website. The best tip I can give you is just start with part of it and build it up. Once you get going, it's easier to add to it. I've been wanting to use Node-red for a while, years in fact but just had other things to do first.

@@BoatingwiththeBaileys Much appreciated, but I think it will have to wait until I feel I have the left over capacity to start messing around with it again. I kind of hit a wall, rather than an actual learning curve it seems. And now I have an engine bay to tidy up, a sail drive and a Penta 2003 to prep before anything else so... yeah. But thank you for the offer, and once I get the stuck bits of keyboard out of my forehead after banging the two against each other one too many times, I hope I can take you up on the offer 😜

nice video! What are you using to sense the AC Current?

Hi - Thanks, its using a YHDC SCT sesnor and a converted sketch that i did in another video. Seems to be working well so far. How are things with you?

@@BoatingwiththeBaileys That's funny, that's the only one of yours I haven't seen, and I don't know why I skipped it!! I will watch it tonight. I will probably have more questions lol - I think I will add this for my Shore power and inverter power. Things are great with me! Just pulled the boat out for Winter, but lots of jobs to do - Lithium Upgrade, transition to Pi5 (once I get a decent Power supply), Rudder bearings, Diesel system review.... How about you, I saw you moved up North? That looked like it would have been an awesome trip. let me know if you need crew for something like that!! I am crewing on a friends boat from Charleston, SC to Fort Lauderdale, FL - that should be awesome!!

@ApresSail will be interested to see what you do with the lithium, that is on my list but this year with the rigging, the sail and the rest of the move it's burnt through the maintenance fund! Sounds like you have some interesting projects coming up. We are in Wales now, we did half the trip but missed out on that last leg unfortunately. Going to explore this area next year and maybe Ireland and then I think we might move a bit further north. I have been to Charleston but it was a very long time ago. That also sounds like a good trip.

Interesting I thought you were going to do the conversions in signalk but node red works as well.

Hi, thanks for your comments on the videos. Is it possible to convert it in SignalK? Can you let me know how?

@@BoatingwiththeBaileys I wish I could help but sadly I am not a coder.
