just a note. when doing car electrical take the positive lead off the batter. stops the annoying dinging and make sure you don't accidentally short out he head unit. as a rule of thumb it's a good practise to follow.

You may have found it easier to sit on the passenger side so that the steering wheel is not in the way and have more room to work :) Show us the rear camera project too!

I'd like to put a full Linux powered SBC like the Odroid C2 with a standard 2 line lcd and wire in an rtlsdr, gps, 3g and a bunch of arduino based sensors all though out the car.
@gardiner_bryant7 жыл бұрын
That would be super fun!

That unit should have a gps receiver and so should allow you to toy around with traccar.

I have one of their systems in my skoda and it works great. Just a little battery hungry so also put in a kill switch.

Mine has an option in the "Extras" settings that completely powers off the device when it detects accessory power is off.
@slaveriq7 жыл бұрын
Oh that sounds good. Does it retain settings after that? Mine tends to forget eq settings and such. (but i also haven't installed the latest update yet)

Out of curiosity, how's the sound? My camry has the JBL 8 speaker sound system in it and for a factory equipped stereo the thing rocks! I've thought about upgrading to something like this but I'm afraid of losing the sound quality.
@gardiner_bryant6 жыл бұрын
I don't have JBL speakers, however I have found that on a subjective level this thing is a marked improvement over the stock head unit. Sounds generally seems to have better dynamic response and overall I like it.
