I put them on my C-180 and it was a game changer. I’m interested to see your results. I can see why we pulled so many cylinders before engine analyzers became common. There’s NO WAY we knew what was going on except when things started failing. I bet you get some dramatic positive results. Mine allowed me to fine tune the baffles for even better results. Good luck! And nice work, BTW.

Looks mean with the gills installed. I like it 👌 can't wait for the data if they worked or not.

Just found your channel. Love your hands on approach. For me building a composite Quickie TriQ-200 for over 40 years. MY main hobby now is piano playing. From what I read the exist area should be 3 times the inlet area. I am very interested in your before and after areas. i am also so jealous of your shop. It is so organized. Good Job!!

Good explanation on high and low pressure. As the air speeds up and leaves the bottom of the cowling it creates low pressure, and high always wants to go to low.

So cool (pun intended) I hope it gives you the results you are looking for. Anything should help.

Hey man when are you going together to the s-21 outbound?

They look great. As a certified aircraft, are you allowed to modify the air frame without a STC or as a non A&P? What is the ruling on that?
@Outbound3002 ай бұрын
STC is only required for Major Alterations. This is minor. The supporting accepted and approved data is the Cessna 206 part and service manuals and AC-43.13. A&P enters the work into the logs and all is good.

Any light getting through on the backside of the baffle plate behind the #3 cylinder... Like you said, path of least resistance, also seen front plates on the front side of the #1 cylinder to force more pressurized air to the back cylinders

Have you swapped cht probs? Just the 1st thing I would do. If you open up the cowl you will need to be careful not to super cool and crack a cylinder. FYI.
@Outbound3002 ай бұрын
CHT probe swap was the first thing I did. No change.

I would absolutely love to see a 150 like this with a Rotax 916. I wonder if it would be faster than the S21 considering the wing? Perhaps more robust.🤔 Also could you go into more detail about your hardware trays? Did you selectively fill them? Is there a kit what types of bins. I nerded iut and got rather excited when I saw those and want to add something like that to mine
@Outbound3002 ай бұрын
That would be really cool to see. I bet it would be a great performing and fuel efficient airplane.

The tool chest is a Husky brand. It’s their larger ‘HD’ model. For the trays I designed them all in CAD and 3D printed to fit the drawers perfectly. What isn’t shown is there are several trays pieces together in there about 10” square that can be removed and taken to your work space.

Your stiffener isn't installed quite right, its supposed to hug the edges of the louvers.

Thanks for the heads up! I’ll look into it and may flip them around.

Sorry, never never use pincel on aluminum. I see you have it on the paint, no matter the risk is not worth it.
@Outbound3002 ай бұрын
As you mentioned, the surface is painted. All is well.
