5:00 for when I pull the motor. Look at the engine mount aluminum bracket.

To me: It's a heat shield for the fuel lines so it's most likely going to be bent so disregard it.

When you put your catch can on did you leave the pcv system plugged in all around accept for that one hose on the passenger side

Sorry for the late response but I actually bought the car with the catch can already. If you find me on Instagram and send me a message, I can get you a in depth video if you still need help!

Is the trans mount similar on a G8? Can't find any vids specifically on it and my car's got some wicked vibration when reversing, etc. Motor mounts seem good...
@spiceredgto93383 жыл бұрын
I’m not 100% sure but let me ask a buddy and I’ll get back with you.
@spiceredgto93383 жыл бұрын
It does look similar with two small bolts holding the cross member up. I would support your transmission with a jack while replacing that mount. Doesn’t look like it would take longer then 30 minutes. Hope this helps!

I just skim through the video gonna re watch it later just wanted to ask what headers are you running I got kooks LT and I’m kinda worried about them hitting the steering column was woindering if shorter mounts would be better or stiffer oem ones
@spiceredgto93383 жыл бұрын
Kooks lt shouldn’t hit unless your engine mounts are bad. I have speed engineering lt and they didn’t hit but I have a M6 but a buddy has an A4 and they hit. If yours do happen to hit, you can try moving your steering rack back before buying new mounts. Let me know how it works out!

@spiceredgto9338 i just installed speed engineering headers they will hit the steering shaft knuckle when turning an giving it gas any tips

Did these mounts increase vibration? If so, was it a worthwhile tradeoff for improved feel?
@spiceredgto93382 жыл бұрын
I didn’t notice an increased vibration, my motor is basically stock though. Maybe with a cam it would increase vibration but if your stock engine mounts are collapsed then it’s definitely a major upgrade.
@freshtad3ff4 жыл бұрын
So with those mounts you don’t have any issues with the drive shaft? I’ve been thing about getting one. And already have those mounts.

Question... Great video and I gave this a try on my 06. Bought the hinson motor and trans mounts and managed ok with the transmission mount. However, after removing upper and lower bolts on motor mounts and jacking up from oil pan, the whole car raised! Did you have any stuck issues?
@spiceredgto93383 жыл бұрын
Mine did the same thing but I was able to use a short crowbar and wedge them out. I would recommend removing the bolts for your trans mount again and, depending on how easy it is for you, unbolt your manifolds too. Hopefully this helps!

@@spiceredgto9338 I'll give that a try. Thanks for reaching out!

I have an 06 GTO and my rear end slightly lifts up when i put it in reverse , and when i shift to drive it sags down. Any idea what it could be ?? I figure it’s the transmission mounts because when it sags, it sounds like bushings are being forced together.

Can you do a alternator replace vid? Need a few pointers thanks! Great channel
@spiceredgto93384 жыл бұрын
I will as soon as mine needs replaced! I pulled this write up and hopefully it helps, if you have any more questions just let me know! Post:Disconnect battery. Remove intake tube. Remove serpentine belt. Disconnect rubber coolant hose going from radiator to engine. (Use towl on radiator side to prevent coolant from pouring out.) Disconnect 2 electrical plugs to radiator fans. Remove fan shroud with fans by simplying pulling up. For better leverage, take 2 bolts that hold the steering pump on, off. (Not necessary but makes it easier.) Altenator is held in place by 3 bolts.

@@spiceredgto9338 thanks. Has anyone you know had any luck with high output alternators? Stock is 140. But I've seen 180 and 220 . just wondering because gtos are touchy lol. Mines a 04

djemazing100 not that I know of, these cars are super touchy... do you have a sound system or something you are trying to power?
@RealRestartPWN4 жыл бұрын
djemazing100 it’s not bad, remove the cold air intake and fan shroud to give yourself extra room and just remove the 4 bolts along with the ground and power wire and it comes right out. If you replace the alternator I can not stress it enough use OEM ONLY!!! I replaced mine with a shit car quest alternator and the resistor failed after a month and was overcharging all my electronics and was causing a ton of issues, replaced with oem one from amazon and have absolutely no issues
