Great video - this saved me tons of time! I finished both mounts in 45 minutes thanks to you taking the time to produce this video. Here's a tip I learned: Support the subframe with a jack and remove the two large 18mm bolts, then gently lower it onto a jack stand (not too far, the steering gear is connected to the steering shaft). This takes a few minutes but allows you to get right at those tricky engine mount bolts with a 15mm socket on a U-joint and extension. Super easy. The rest was exactly as you described. Quick safety note: I tried not to put my hands in between the engine and frame when the engine was supported by only a jack, and assumed the jack would fail at any second and smash my hand. THANK YOU!

Great video. I did them both the other day just 'cause I was tired of hearing that telltale clunk when putting it in reverse, but the difference it made in terms of handling and acceleration was considerable. The trans mount especially looked like pancake lol.

Thanks for sharing this, looks much easier than I thought it would be. Have a 01 GTP that rattles at red lights. Thought it was the torque struts, so I replaced those. Popped the hood a month later now they're bent sideways lol. Gonna do it all (except core support torque strut bushings because I forgot to order them) today.

..And we're done. The brackets for the L67 were a bit different (easier to get to the nuts holding the engine bracket to the mount) Pretty easy job, but I will add the fact that I used a lift and transmission jack at the shop I work at. Didn't get to beat on it yet since it's pouring outside.

I have a brand new trans and shifting from 1st to second is a little rough, could this be the reason. It also shakes when going from park to drive and drive to reverse etc.

I have a 2006 Pontiac G6 GT 3.5 2 door coupe. My rear mount is bad. When I go to find parts it either comes in a set of 3 mounts or 4. Not sure which I should get. Also would this video work with that car and the steps to take?

Never put the jack directly on the oil pan. You can crack your oil pan doing this. A piece of 2x4 works good though.

just support the engine well have take your time, wont be hard if you have done general work on your car. Now replacing the oil pan is fun on a 3800, even more fun if its the aluminum pan like mine (replacing seal, not pan).

okay so i got a 02 grand prix gtp and i just did the top two engine mounts but she still slightly jolts. could these two parts you did be an issue? she does it mainly when shifting drive and reverse. and also when accelerating.

If you are feeling the engine and trans move still, it could be the lower mounts

My car jolts when shifting, and when going from park to drive. I just got a new transmission and disappointed. Is this a possible issue? When rolling and re applying gas sometimes it jolts too.

Will a bad motor mount cause any vibrations while driving making it feel like a tire out of balance? Or something similar

Not usually. But a bad axle will while you are accelerating.

ive seen it happen and it can, but usually its the cv axles that cause that wobble feeling. I have brembos on my 3800 and i think the 14.1 inch rotors can cause a bit of a wobble feel as well. Axles are in decent shape from what i can tell but I have a similar highway wobble like tires are out of balance. Im not sure if its a good test but with the car in park if i try to push the car forward or backwards the engine does swing quite a bit, seems like the mounts are barely holding it in place. mounts are relatively cheap ($200 ish for both) so if they are old and have some decent mileage on them, it might be a good item to add. Plus if you are doing it yourself, its not a huge labour cost to experiment with. Axles are even easier to replace, just make sure you use oem cv axles or a repultable reman, ebay stuff is absolute junk. I had some put in when i was a noob and within 6 months they were falling apart and felt very solid vs the nice flex the oem ones had after years+mileage of use.

What kind of mount did you get? I thought an Anchor front mount would be OK but it only lasted about 6 weeks and now my big vibration is back. I shimmed the mount to prove it and it's ok for now, but I want to put another mount in. Is yours An A/C Delco mount. I thought the Anchor mount would be fine for a few years, at least, but was bad in 6 weeks.

My car has a rattling sound I almost fixed it, but it only rattles when I'm slowing down or at a complete stop. When I accelerate the rattling sound goes. I'm at a lost. It was louder but I found out that the oil level sensor wire came apart cause it wasn't wired right so when I did that the rattling noise went almost all the way away. But I'm stuck right now.

I have an 04 GTP and when I first shift into reverse or drive, the car will rev up but not catch. Eventually it catches but it comes with a rough jolt and loud noise. Do you think this issue could be caused by worn mounts ? Or could it be a straight up transmission issue?

I replaced the mass air flow sensor, but the pull got worse and my car started stalling, so I put the old one back on. I changed the both oxygen sensor and fuel injectors, but I don't know why it's doing that. Can you help me out.

After watching this video, was a little surprised the engine mount bracket is entirely different on my 04 Comp G. Its U shaped and the front bolt almost touches the ac compressor. Didnt even see a middle bolt. Decided to leave the bracket on and take the mount out. Tomorrow doing the transmission mount. Thanks for the helpful video

hard to tell from the video, but that could be a mount noise. if the car is high mileage i would start there anyway.
